The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has assured that he will develop the private sector of the Akwa Ibom economy when he assumes office as the governor of the state.
He made this known while speaking at an endorsement street show organized in his honour by the Akwa Ibom Entertainment Movement in Conjunction with New Breed at the Nwaniba Water Fountain Roundabout in Uyo the state capital.
He noted that having served and worked in the private sector for a larger part of his life, he has what is needed to fully develop the sector for investments to thrive.
He said that the State has nothing to fear on the status of the next President of the country, assuring that “If anyone comes to deceive you that things will not continue to work the way it is working then the person does not understand the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “
He assured his teaming supporters that the youths will be empowered, the elders will be taken care of, and the children will continue to enjoy free education and more infrastructure will be put in place.
According to the gubernatorial hopeful, “Nigeria is a federation where every state is protected by the constitution and today as Akwa Ibom people, the only platform that we can use to protect our resources, the only platform that we can use to attract people to negotiate with us, the only platform that we will use to send our children to school, the only platform that will give us employment, the only platform that will better our lives is the PDP.”
Describing his ambition as God’s agenda, he told the excited fans that they should not be deceived as change in Akwa Ibom started since 2007 when Chief (Dr.) Godswill Obot Akpabio took over power, and canged Akwa Ibom for the better and noted that PDP is the only party that has what it takes to deliver good governance to the masses.
Mr. Emmanuel noted that under his skills development programme in the state, actors and actresses will be coming to shoot their movies in Akwa Ibom as he will provide all that is needed to ensure that the industry thrives under his administration in the state.
“ I want to let the Akwa Ibom entertainers know that the next PDP government will produce the next grammy award winners from here”, he enthused.
In their remarks, the Akwa Ibom entertainers promised to mobilize Akwa Ibom people to vote PDP massively in Saturday’s governorship elections in the state.
Ini Ikpe Etukudo the President of the movement who summarized their position, noted that the Akwa Ibom entertainers are aware of the enormous benefits the state stands to enjoy from Udom’s blueprint and will do everything to convince their teaming fans and supporters to support the governorship hopeful.
Among the finest actors, actresses, musicians and other entertainers of Akwa Ibom extraction who performed at the show included Mr. Moses Armstrong, Pasto Goody Goody, Okon Lagos aka Bishop,Brandini, Emma Solution, Don Tom, Utang Akwa Ibom, Moses Escor, Fadabai among others.
Through their songs, acts and performances, they all spoke with one voice telling Akwa Ibom people to continue keeping faith with the Peoples Democratic Party and to stick to the Udom/Moses governorship project as it is the only ticket that will ensure continuity of the free and compulsory education programme, the massive industrialization that will soon take place, and wealth creation.
Among those at the occasion were the speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Elder Sam Ikon, the PDP state chairman Obong Paul Ekpo, the senator-elect representing Uyo Senatorial district Obong Bassey Albert, the DG of the Udom/Moses Campaigns Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga and a former governorship aspirant Engr. Larry Esin among others.
