The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has been boosted following more prayers of blessings from members of the Christian community in the State.
The divine blessings came from the Assemblies of God, Uyo East District, where at Odiok Itam Camp Ground, a retired National General Superintendent of the church, Dr Charles Osueke harped on Mr Emmanuel’s robust moral and religious standing, and believed the fear of God in him will bring forth good governance in Akwa Ibom State.
They two members of the clergy agreed that the PDP candidate holds great hope for Akwa Ibom people as shown in his decency in politicking, and called on the electorate to rise up to the responsibility of ensuring that the leadership of the State is entrusted into the hands of the man who will lead with the fear of God.
Mr Udom Emmanuel in his separate remarks at the two events reaffirmed his determination to run an administration that will be founded on the dictates of God, if elected as governor.
He reiterated his firm belief that power belongs to God who gives it to whom He pleases, and said without a divine touch, man labours in vain for earthly aspirations.
While acknowledging the supremacy of God, he challenged the Christian community, which he described as his primary constituency, to come together and ensure that good governance is enthroned in the state with one of them at the helms of affairs.
According to Mr Udom Emmanuel, politics was a responsibility and a platform to bring God’s work to bear in the public sector.
Mr Udom Emmanuel who was at the churches in the spirit of the Easter season received gifts and prayers from his hosts even as he took part in the different church programmes.
He was accompanied to the church programmes by bigwigs of the PDP, including commissioners and special advisers.
