Buhari cancels trip to Akwa Ibom

Buhari cancels trip to Akwa Ibom

The much heralded visit of the President–elect, Muhammadu Buhari to Akwa Ibom state that was scheduled for today, Tuesday, April 7, has been canceled.

Exclusive details at our disposal say the President elect was strongly advised by those close to APC national leader, Bola Tinubu not to visit Akwa Ibom at the moment as it was too early to embark upon such trip to avoid unnecessary heat up of the polity.
“The visit to Akwa Ibom state now is a bit too early and it is enough to stoke controversies and raise unnecessary tension.

There are certain fights we should wage and Akwa Ibom is not worth spending any money on at the moment” Tinubu’s top advisers sources say were said to have told Buhari.

The President-elect who sources say is very busy with transition issues and attending to well-wishers was said to have agreed with Tinubu’s camp, and thus canceled his planned visit to Akwa Ibom state.

But competent sources say the visit will still hold before Saturday elections
