Sen. Helen Esuene, representing Eket Senatorial District has expressed optimism over her success in the gubernatorial elections which is coming up on April 11, 2015.
Esuene who is contesting under the platform of Labour Party, stated this in an interview with newsmen in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom on Wednesday.
“I am very positive that I will emerge the winner of the forthcoming gubernatorial elections on the platform of Labour Party.
“Labour Party is an emerging Political Party in the country and we are gaining grounds. I am very positive that the party will take over governance in the state at the April 11 elections,’’ she said.
She said “in the history of Akwa Ibom, women have never contested for the governorship position.
“The first woman that has come out as governor, should be given a chance, remember our 35 per cent you will not labour in vain. Vote a woman and be sure peace,’’ she said.
Esuene however, said that she is coming with a liberation message to the women, elders, youths, and the children by creating an enabling environment for all to excel.
She assured the people of the state that a female would take over the government of Akwa Ibom in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state.
Esuene mentioned employment opportunities, health care delivery services, educational empowerment, skills acquisition, industrialization and more are in her kitty of governance of Akwa Ibom State if given the opportunity.
She promised to make food available for the masses and would ensure healthcare delivery if elected come April 11, in the state.
She said that qualitative education is also on her priority list when she gets to the hilltop come 2015.
Esuene called on the electorates to come out enmass and vote for labour party to succeed in the gubernatorial elections.
