In what
many has described as greed and the fear of the unknown, A to Z TV
programme Producer, Aniekan Udosen has resigned from Udom Emmanuel
Governorship Campaign Council where he was a member of the publicity
sub-committee and has now joined the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mr. Aniekan Udosen said he was leaving Udom Campaign Council to “join the new PDP in APC in the interest of Akwa Ibom people”.
“I cannot afford to go contrary to the
directive and advice of experienced leaders like Attah, Etiebet, Umana
etc,” Udosen said in his letter of resignation from the campaign
council, addressed to Mr. Aniekan Umana who is the state Commissioner
for Information as well as the head of publicity sub-committee of Udom
Emmanuel Campaign Council. The letter is dated April, 2, 2015.
Mr. Udosen said in the letter which has gone viral on the Internet, “Even our out-going governor advises us not to play opposition and now PDP is opposition, so I cannot play opposition.”
Most other members of the publicity
committee, Udosen stated in the letter, have quietly left the committee
and withdrew their support for Udom Emmanuel, but were not courageous
enough to tell the commissioner for information.
Udosen alleged that ‘the way and manner’
Aniekan Umanah led the publicity committee was one of the reasons people
were leaving, and added that members who left did not received any
money for their services to the campaign. He claimed that his company, A
to Z Galaxies was being owed money since 2013, apparently by the state
government, and that he wouldn’t mind forgoing it as a price he has to
pay for being on the side of the people.
