Operation Umana Okon Umana must win: It’s a do or die affair - Mbatessien

Operation Umana Okon Umana must win: It’s a do or die affair - Mbatessien

The leader of the opposition party, APC  in the state, Chief Ime Mbatessien has congratulated the President Elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, rtd on his victory during penultimate weekend polls across the country. He said the victory of Buhari is victory for democracy and stated that the nation’s President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan did not have any choice than to concede defeat and congratulate the winner of that election.

Mbatessien spoke to THE INK reporter in Uyo last weekend. He said with the victory of Buhari that all is set for the APC in Akwa Ibom State to get victory in this coming Saturday’s election.

The Etinan born politician stated emphatically that Obong Umana Okon Umana must win the upcoming Saturday’s election as anything short of that will not be accepted by the APC and the people of Akwa Ibom State. He said the APC in the state have since been on the opposing side and that now is the time for them to be the Government in Power.

In the words of Mbatessien, ‘do not even consider that PDP will win Saturday’s election in this state. They will not win and we will not accept their victory. Let me make you understand that Umana’s victory this coming Saturday is a do or die affair’.

Speaking further, Mbatessien insisted that he has been briefed from the grapevine that the state Governor Obong Godswill Akpabio wants to kill Umana. He said he understands that Akpabio sees Umana as he greatest albatross and hence his decision to do everything to ensure that Umana is out of the scheme.

The opposition leader further added that the people of Akwa Ibom State has everything to win with the UOU governorship stressing that what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. He advised the APC not to accept decampees from the ruling party arbitrarily as according to him, some of them may not be coming with good intentions.

He stressed that the time of a corrupt government leading Akwa Ibom state is over and that now is the time for the people of the state to see the need to support the candidature of Obong Umana Umana. Mbatessien maintained that for the people to benefit and enjoy the much needed change from poverty to riches, insecurity to security, impunity to responsibility, they should all queue behind Umana Umana as according to him, the APC candidate is the man who has the wherewithal to restore the lost glory of Akwa Ibom State.
