A true picture of the direction of the Governorship race in the Akwa Ibom State appears glaring as all facets of the state’s economy have fallen in line behind the PDP governorship candidate, Mr Udom Emmanuel.
Latest in the fray are Automobile Technicians from the 31 Local Government Areas of the state who came together in the spirit of the Easter season to adopt Mr. Udom Emmanuel as their sole candidate in the April 11 polls.
Summarizing the position of his members, the state chapter chairman, Comrade Aloysius John said, “from all indications the realities on grounds proves that it is Udom Emmanuel who will take over the mantle of governance in the state come 29th May 2015’’
The technicians agreed further that ‘’from her present economic status, Akwa Ibom needs a sound economic technocrat like Udom Emmanuel to manage the affairs of the people.”
”In essence, Automobile Technicians in the state are solidly behind you and expert your total transformation of the automobile industry in the state’’ the concluded.
Responding, the PDP Governorship Candidate Mr. Udom Emmanuel represented by his running mate Mr. Moses Ekpo thanked the Automobile technicians for the support.
Mr Ekpo assured that the people of the state have maintained their support for the PDP, as seen in the outcome of the last presidential and National Assembly elections in which the party maintained a 100% percent victory for all her National Assembly Candidates in the state.
He re-iterated that Udom Emmanuel as Governor will provide enough investment opportunities for all facets of the economy.
Reacting to the outcome of the last Presidential elections, Mr Ekpo said that the Akpabio-led administration did not need support from Abuja in churning out massive infrastructure and development programmes in the state.
Others who spoke included a former Governor of the state and director general of the Udom/Moses 2015 Campaign Organization , Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga and the village head of Afaha Offot who prayed for the success of the Udom/Moses 2015 Campaign Team.
Akwa Ibom Labour Union, Akwa Ibom Transport Union, Traders Union, Student Groups, Past Student Leaders, Non-Indigenes as well as State Councilors Forums, are among groups that have previously endorsed Udom’s Candidature.
