A new chapter has opened in the annals of Etinan Institute Old Students Association (ETINOSA) as a new executive council has been sworn-in with Mr. Patrick Johnson as the President to run the affairs of the prestigious body for the next two years.
Other executive members inaugurated were: Barr. Ini Etuknwa Vice President, Mr. Efretuei Akaduh Secretary General, Mr. Uduak Nse Assistant Secretary, Mr. Mfon Victor Financial Secretary, Rhoda Ekanem Treasurer, Mrs. Lawrencia Umoren Publicity Secretary and Caroline Thompson Welfare Officer.
In his inaugural speech, the newly sworn-in President Mr. Patrick Johnson who is also the Managing Director of 6:45 Gold Cafe’ a subsidiary of Johnsonap Ventures Limited remained grateful to God for the existing unifying spirit in the Association which consequently saw through a smooth and peaceful transition in the body.
He further expressed his gratitude to members of the body for believing in him and newly sworn-in members of his cabinet and pledged to re-write the name of the body with a golden-ink by bringing infrastructural development where necessary to the Institute that served as bedrock to their respective success stories in life today.
The President clearly stated that apart from all other activities and programmes his administration has mapped out for the association, his major concern this year shall focus on centenary celebration of their Alma Mata and pleaded with members to shun a lackadaisical and aloof attitude while he sued for commitment and dedication towards the actualization of the envisaged epoch making ceremony of the Institution.
He enjoined all to give their outmost support for the new executive to drive the association to a higher level, reasoning that with the support and commitment of members, his administration shall create an enabling environment for the body to move from glory to glory.
In summation, the president proposed a new slogan ‘’NEW ETINOSA: ONE MIND, ONE SPIRIT’’ which received the general acceptability of the members.
Speaking earlier, the president emeritus of the association Comr. Ikpong Essien-Udom in his valedictory address congratulated the new president for his victory at the poll and his cabinet members, and appreciated members who were steadfast by making themselves available during meetings throughout his tenure.
His special thanks went to Mr. James Inim and Barr. James Essien for attending the meeting, and called on the former who is a resident in United States to ensure that a chapter of the association is well established and rooted there to ensure a collective efforts toward developing the school.
On his part the chairman of electoral Committee, Barr. James Bassey while presenting members of the exco earlier on for inauguration observed that the transition of leadership in the association was smooth and peaceful which almost seems impossible with other associations of their kind.
Barr. Bassey commended members for their maturity and for conducting themselves civically during the election a virtue he said is the bases of his membership in the association. He however called on the new executive to make the body proud and pleaded with the out gone president not to deny them his advisory role when necessary in order to fast track the growth of the body and the development of the Alma Mata which is the paramount mission and vision of the association.
