The Executive Chairman for Ikot Abasi LGA, Arc. Ufot Sunday Udoinyang has bagged one of the prestigious title “Otuekong Edemeya” by the Edemeya Traditional Rulers Council (TRC).
The event took place last weekend during the annual Mboho Edemeya day celebration which was held at the Ultra-Modern Edemeya Clan Council Hall, constructed by Arc. Udoinyang’s administration.

The occasion also served as home coming for the people, attracted cream de la (creams of people) within and outside the state to witness the ceremony.
In what they described as landmarks achievements, the (TRC) poured encomiums on the Council Boss, for rewritings the story of the clan in gold.
They specifically acknowledged that Edemeya has never had it so good than now that Arc. Udoinyang is on the throne.
While recounting their blessings through the developmental strides of the chairman, such as the youth/women empowerments, award of scholarship to students, erecting a state of the art edifice (Town Hall), construction of the Atan Ikpe Bridge, and rural electrification among others.
However, the traditional Rulers who were full of praises to their performing Chairman conferred on him the chieftaincy title of” Otuekong Edemeya” in order to spur him up in continuing to bring his wealth of experience to bear for the upliftment of the clan.
Also speaking, the chairman Mboho Edemeya who also double as the chairman on the occasion, Barr. Edidiong Ubeh, extol the sterling qualities of Arc. Udoinyang, whom he said has wiped the tears of the clan.
He on behalf of the Mboho covered their commendations to Otuekong Udoinyang for making them proud, similarly, used the occasion to called on other well-meaning Edemeya people to donate for the furnishing of the Town Hall even as he prayed for God’s blessings on Arc. Udoinyang.
On their parts, the Paramount Ruler of Ikot Abasi HRM, Edidem U.J. Ntukobom (xii), Sir, G.S Ekere, Sir O.DEtukafia, Sir Marcus Enene, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government andChieftaincy Affairs all applauded Arc.Udoinyang for the love he has for Edemeya and his vision, however, prayed for God to continue to bless him.
Responding, Arc.Udoinyang who was full of happiness for the honour done him on behalf of his family expressed his satisfaction for his contributions to his people.
He said to whom much is given much is also expected, promised to continue to consolidate on the mandate they gave him overwhelmingly by attracting more government presents to the clan as well as the entire Local Government.
The Otuekong Edemeya in the same vein used the occasion to preached peace and unity, explaining that if the clan give unity a chance, positive development would continue to trunk into the area, in appreciation he donated to the Mboho and the Edemeya TRC for their continue growth.
In the same reaction, the Nka Uforo Ikot Oboroenyin has also conferred Award of Excellences to Otuekong Udoinyang over his positive contributions to the upliftment of Ikot Oboroenyin
