2015: Ibom Grand Alliance endorses Justice Ebito for Governor
Ahead of 2015 elections in Akwa Ibom State, a socio-political group in the state, Ibom Grand Alliance (IGA) has formerly endorsed Dr, Justice Nya E. E. Ebito from Idua Asang in Oron LGA as their gubernatorial flag-bearer. 

The group made its position known recently at the Oron Civic Centre, venue of the inauguration of the state, chapter and ward officers of the IGA.

In his opening speech the Director General of Ibom Grand Alliance who was also the chairman of the occasion, Dr, Barr. Kingsley Ekwere, disclosed that Ibom Grand Alliance an affiliate of Greater Ibom Integrity Project was a group registered under the laws of Akwa Ibom State and that membership cuts across the entire state.

He advised members of the group to remain law abiding and respect laid down constitutions.

Delivering his keynote address Rev. Dr. David Asi restated that it was the turn of Oro nation to take over power. He frowned at the non challant attitude displayed by some indigenes of the area that do not have the interest of Oron at heart.
Dr. Asi described Rtd Justice Ebito as a true son of Oron, intelligent, God fearing focused and a vessel sent by God to deliver the people and move Akwa Ibom State to a greater dimension.

Reading from Ecclesiasis 9 verse 11 and Ecclesiasis 8 verse 17, Asi who spoke on the topic: “Time and chance”, said that God has assigned 2015 as the time and chance of Ebito in Oron LGA to rule Akwa Ibom State.

He tasked Ebito to be courageous and take the risk to contest so that politics could be redeemed from the hands of those with questionable character and returned to God fearing people.

He prayed God to guide Ebito even as he embarks on the quest to seek justice for his people.

Asi also advised members of Ibom Grand Alliance to be steadfast, courageous and be willing to exercise their franchise judiciously in the 2015 elections.

Also speaking the clan head of Idua Asang-Oron LGA, Chief E. N. Ekeng described Justice Ebito as a humble and intelligent gentleman destined for higher service.
He expressed optimism that with Ebito as governor, the people of the Oron in particular and the state in general will rejoice since Ebito was noted as a man who loved to touch lives and somebody who can deliver.

In her reaction, Mrs Inemesit Ebito who was honoured as the matron of IGA, expressed gratitude to the group for the confidence reposed on her husband and thanked them for honouring her as matron of Ibom Grand Alliance.

She assured the people of IGA and Akwa Ibom State that her husband was a tested and proven man of God whose integrity has not been found wanting in any capacity or office he finds himself.

In his acceptance speech the Grand patron of Ibom Grand Alliance, Rtd. Justice Nya E. E. Ebito thanked the group for the extra- ordinary display of patriotism.
 Affirming his willingness to join the 2015 guber race, Ebito described 2015 election as god’s slot and time to reign in Akwa Ibom State.
He spoke against killings, blood shed and other evil vices experienced in the society as acts inimical to the direction of God.

Ebito assured the people that with their full support, judging from the massive turn out at the event that the future seemed brighter.

He reiterated his resolve to run an administration characterize with abundance of food, good qualitative and free education to a higher level, massive employment, mobilization and empowerment of the people state to be independent of government. 

Highlights of the ceremony included gift of paraphernalia of office to Justice and Mrs Ebito as Grand patron and matron of IGA, Oath of office administered to newly inaugurated president of Ibom Grand Alliance, Obong Okon Frank Isemin, state officers, chapter and ward executives quests at the occasion included youth groups, women groups, political class, senior citizens of the state and well wishers.
