Group chides media attack on Udomfang

Group chides media attack on Udomfang
A socio–political association, Midim Democratic Voice in Abak Federal Constituency has condemned in strong terms the recent media attack on the former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Patrick Udomfang. The malicious story appeared in some community tabloids in Akwa Ibom State.

The story entitled: Abak Federal Constituency 2015: Kinsmen reject Udomfang”, is a media onslaught aimed at discrediting the former commissioner who is aspiring to represent the federal constituency at the national assembly.A release signed by the president of the group, Mr. John Joseph, Aniekan Charlie, Mr. Francis Urom, Hon Victor Saviour Urom, Mr. Kingsely Damian, Mr. Emmanuel Edem and Hon Aniefiok Ezekiel stated “that ordinarily we would have dismissed the poorly written story as the handiwork of mischief makers and political jobbers whose stock-in-trade is to go around people’s houses, especially political office holders to sell cheap blackmail stories for peanuts”.

But “it is our wish to advise those involved in the on-going media campaign against Hon (Barr) Patrick Udomfang both in Midim and at Uyo to turn a new leaf and ask God for forgiveness and to face their future if they have any, as most of them are operating under family and paternal curses”.

The Group further counseled them “to take a queue on the exemplary leadership of the Akwa Ibom State, His Execellency, Chief Godswill Akpabio (CON)”.

The members of Midim Democratic voice berated the smear campaign against Barr. Udomfang whose towering political popularity in the federal constituency and beyond has rattled his detractors not to be stampeded into unmitigated media attack because of their fear of ebbing into political abyss, stressing that those who are privileged to be appointed into position of responsibilities should not exploit it for disservice to the people. It warned of the danger inherent in hiding under government’s protection to perpetrate evil against innocent citizens.

The Group warned the detractor to desist from the dastardly media campaign on Barr. Udomfang and eschew politics with bitterness whose intent is to dent others even as Barr. Udomfang blazes the trail to the national assembly in 2015.

While reaffirming their support to the senatorial ambition of Gov. Akpabio in 2015, the group hailed Governor Akpabio for the Red Roof Revolution of all classroom blocks at Michael’s Primary School, Ikot Ikpe, Government Primary School, Ikot Antuk, Government Primary School, Ikot Imo, and the electrification of Atan Midim and Ikot Eshiet.

The Members of Midim Democratic voice also reiterated their resolve with the political aspiration of Barr. Patrick Udomfang to represent Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

The Group maintained that “we know the conman code-named “Mr Sly Ekpo” as a rogue that was dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force, having been identified as an armed robber years ago; that there is no iota of truth in the said malicious story rejecting Mr. Udeme Abijah as the co-ordinator of  Akwa Ibom Consolidated Alliance (ACA) in Midim II. That there was no protest but rather an ovation of interest among those listed as the various ward officers. That Mr. Udeme Abijah is currently a student in the department of political science, University of Uyo.

The Group called on the detractor not to count their political ascendancy on the fall of others, because according to them, “those who live by sword would die by sword and those who must destroy in order to succeed would meet destruction as sentinel at the point of their success. We warn the faceless master not to expect to reap from where he did not sow. A word is enough for the wise”.
