Nse Joshua
It is clear that the current administration was pre-oriented, or had the pre-knowledge that engaging the younger sets of the state’s indigenes (mainly those with the requisite skills and technical acumen) is one of the fastest ways of growing the economy of the state, and by possible extension, the nation at large- perhaps a yet to be discovered secret, or part of the secrets behind the rapid process taken towards repositioning the state which has led it to assume the rare position it currently sits on, as one of the states in the country with a passion driven desire to witness swift transition from the just surpassed state of less-than–impressive economic independence to a dignified and lofty economic position that will attract both national and global attention.
Aside involving much of the brains and labouring hands of those from the younger generation in governance, the culture, especially such in a democratic setting, particularly that of Nigeria, the agitation has always been that the professionals (pros in short) be made the PROs, though this rarely works in the corporate setting. Be that as it may, this agitation has always been a point of contention between two sects- the stakeholders and the commoners; and it has always been so because during the process of selecting candidates for various political offices, while the stakeholders will scramble for anyone who will protect their stakes, the commoners will be on the opposing side, throwing their weight behind whoever they feel will not cease feeling their pulse and understanding their plights when he eventually succeeds and assumes office. Whenever this is the case, the insistence of the stakeholders on having their stakes protected, against the efforts of the commoners to resist being oppressed consequently becomes an issue of humourless contention.
In circumstances like this, it will only be worthwhile and nontoxic to keep sensations far afield, while diplomacy is being accorded outright functionality, as the sensitivity and importance of each of the two parties cannot go rancid. And to achieve this, someone whose dogma is mostly occupied by the impress of diplomacy is needed at the centre of affairs; one with the capacity to keep both parties going without causing any ill feeling of marginalization. This is where the likes of Nse Joshua come in; but with only one of his likes in the race for the Uyo State Constituency seat come 2015, he stands out as being equipped with the best quality for the job.
A long standing and very active comrade, yet still showing signs of an untiring spirit in service. Having served, served and served, Nse Joshua’s consistency in the business of service has almost turned the Uyo born social and political activist to a man whose main is total service to mankind.
He has meticulously gone through the gradual processes of a well groomed leader, evident in his long time followership, through which he has garnered vast experience in the business of activism- same which has made him a product widely accepted by his would-be constituent masses.
Considering this, Joshua in the eyes of the very people he is aspiring to speak for in the state legislative chambers is nothing short of a well mannered, well polished man with a progressive mindset devoid of corruption even at its infinitesimal scale… one quality rarely found in the modern day scene of politics; and with his representation, the Uyo people can rightly retire complacently to their sofas of satisfaction while expecting a quality and result yielding legislation.
With his records of having earned a successful career in his chosen field of academic endeavour, his years of political activism and followership is just an added advantage that puts him on the fore as a better, if not the best candidate to earn the mandate of speaking for the Uyo people. He has enough good intentions that will enable him draw out good plans for his would be constituent, and equally, as well as most importantly, has good and unquestionable characters that can guarantee his seeing to the fulfillment of these promises, and will even do more if time and capacity permits.
With Joshua, the constituents of Uyo extraction are already sure of a leader who will help them discover themselves. They are already sure of a stable and vibrant link to the government in the next four years counting from 2015. They are already sure of a representative who will fight for, and deliver to them same capacity that will enable them develop their respective immediate societies and create ways for prosperity. And to crown it all, they are sure of the kind of representation that will guarantee them innumerable empowerment grants as small scale human capitals- such if well utilized, will sure bring forth so much increase in terms of human capacity and will see to maximal production which, owing to its naturally contagious nature, will be of ultimate good to his constituents.
By a step further Joshua is one leader who will always make himself accountable for the sustenance of his good polices and works. This is one kind of leader that many communities nationwide crave for and apparently, his emergence will be the dawn of a new era for Uyo State Constituency.
Away from being a commoner, whether by nature or by choice, Joshua’s persistent drive to remain with people at the downstream has made him a friend of the common people, and with his fast rising profile, consequent upon a natural but divinely predesigned call to service, members of his immediate constituency (the commoners’ constituency) are already hoping on him to be actively involved in the process of creating a better society that will offer them the opportunity to have a taste of good living.
Even with his human tendency, Joshua’s past display of reliability and trust worthiness has saved the people the stress of any possibly feeling of pernickety. Hence, he is trusted by his people to deliver effectively when given the mandate.
Summarily, Nse Joshua’s diplomacy has been the secret to his easily found ability to keep the elders and stakeholders of politics still on his side, even while consistently belonging to the commoner’s republic; and this feat can be attributed to his firm believe that irrespective of differences relating to tribe, religion, academia or political border; ceasar’s right to get what is his must not be stampeded. This is why he has never discarded the fact that as much as seeing to the need of the common people remains an important essence of governance, the experience and wisdom of the elders equally stands as an indispensable part of the politics business. With these virtues, the centre of politics and fair sharing in Uyo State Constituency can hopefully hold with Nse Joshua at the helm of affairs.
