INGWEK Ukanafun commends Lawmaker on performance
Confederation on of Ukanafun of Ukanafun Youth Leaders under the aegis is of Ingwek Ukanafun has commended the member representing Ukanafun State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Elder) Aniekan S. Akpan for tremendous achievements since he was elected into office.

Speaking recently during a call on the Lawmaker, the presiding head of the confederation, Comrade Saturday Hanson hailed Elder Akpan for “reporting progress” as epitomized in the effective representation he has given the people in the hallowed house. The Youth Leader thanked the Lawmaker for the encouragement and appreciation he expressed to INEC officials and his constituents in all the hundred (100) units in the eleven wards of the Local Government Area during the last voters registration exercise. He stressed that the gesture was a pragmatic step towards ensuring that Ukanafun people are not disenfranchised even as democratic culture is deepened among the people of Ukanafun who have never had if so good under any other Lawmaker.
Ingwek Ukanafun also lauded the Lawmaker who is the Chairman House Committee on Public Accounts for the magnanimous strides in youth empowerment and infrastructural development which have placed the people in vantage position. The group also stated that the youth empowerment Scheme has gone a long way to curb crimes and youth restiveness which were commonplace among some idle youths. Before in the same vein, the lawmaker also received a moral boost for the various scholarship awards given to undergraduate and graduate students. The youth group described the benevolence of the Elder Akpan as unprecedented in this history of political representation of the constituency.

In a related development, the youth leaders also congratulated the lawmaker on the recent award conferred on him as the Grand Commander of the National Association of Ukanafun Students. They described the award as deserving and befitting tribute to a man of great repute whose political impact has permeated every stratum of Ukanafun State Constituency. Ingwek further lauded the lawmaker as a compassionate man who is propelled by the courage and vision of an achiever par excellence; adding that the lawmaker as grassroots man understands the problems of rural people.

Ingwek also appealed to the lawmaker to vie for a second term in view of his recorded and visible achievements which have been described as second to none as there was none like him before him. They reasoned that the second term opportunity would place Ukanafun people on a pedestal to achieve more as the experience and exposure of Elder Akpan in the law- making processes at the hallowed chamber would serve as an asset. The confederation of Ukanafun Youth Leaders further commended the exemplary cosmopolitan posture of the law- maker in the State Assembly. They explained that Elder Akpan has touched many lives that have come across him even as they hailed him for historic transparency, dignified humility and legendary integrity.

Ingwek Ukanafun also reaffirmed its commitment to support the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio in zoning the governorship to Eket senatorial district. The youth explained that the decision would entrench justice and equity among the people of the State, even as harmonious peaceful co- existence would also be assured. The group explained that since Uyo and Ikot Eket Senatorial District have taken their turns there is no justification why “our brothers” in Eket should be denied unfettered access to the Hilltop mansion in 2015. The youth leaders also reiterated their unflinching support to Governor Akpabio on his Senatorial ambition and expressed optimism that by his uncommon transformation antecedent more be democratic dividends would be enjoyed by the people. They stated that the senate would give Governor Akpabio the enablement to situate the people in national power politics.

Elder Akpan thanked the confederation of Ukanafun youths for the visit. He said that their commendation was the people’s verdict and that would spur him to do more for the people whose mandate and encouragement he has enjoyed. He expressed profound appreciation to the youth leaders for keeping the group strong and united.

The Group also expressed appreciation to the Divisional Police Officer (D.P.O) of Ukanafun, Mr Friday Mkpa and other security agencies in combating crimes in the area.
