Light shines in A’Ibom communities
Residents of Ikot Ebieyem community in Ikot Ekpene LGA are basking in the euphoria of power supply recently restored to the community.

The Village Chairman, Chief Edet Anwan reported to the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Power that the transformer supplying the community was damaged.
When Engr. Itoro Udosen from the SSA’s office visited the site, it wasdiscovered that the transformer got damaged as a result of overloading.

Through the intervention of the SSA’s office, the damaged transformer was replaced with a brand new transformer and power supplyhas since been restored to the community.

Chief Edet Anwan who reported the matter expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Power.

He said “I express my profound gratitude to His Excellency and the Senior Special Assistant on Power, we have a School, we have good roads and now we have a new transformer”

In a related development, power supply has also been restored to Ika Local Government Area headquarters after more than a year without power.

It was reported that a pole fell in Nto Ukara community, therefore PHEDC officials had to isolate the area from the power grid.

The office of the SSA on Power intervened by replacing the fallen pole with a new pole and corresponding accessories to restore power to Ika LGA headquarters.

Prince Isonguyo who spoke on behalf of the Paramount Ruler of Ika LGA expressed appreciation to His Excellency and the SSA on Power for the intervention.

He said “on behalf of my father, the Paramount Ruler, and entire people of Ika LGA, we express gratitude to His Excellency and the SSA on Power for restoring power to our community”
