There is no Abuja front in A’Ibom - Isong
Recent insinuations that the meeting held by prominent stakeholders last week in Uyo was a resurgence of the Abuja front has been dismissed by a frontline politician and chieftain of the PDP,Chief Edet Isong.

Chief Isong who is also the Mokafa of Efut Kingdom dismissed the claims as baseless as the persons involved converged with the interest of the unity of the state in the projected re-election of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“The meeting was called primarily to mobilise support for President Jonathan’s re-election and AkwaIbom State will be at the fore front to achieve this set target” Chief Isong Stated.

The former council boss of Urue Offong/Oruko Local Government Area and International President of The Good Governance Group (GGG) stated that the unity of the state remains paramount and that even though he was  the chairman of the Abuja front in the last administration, there was no need to over heat the polity by recent comments by some individuals as a fall out of the meeting.
Chief Isong urged the people of the state to support President Jonathan in his re-election bid, while soliciting for caution ahead of the 2015 polls in Akwa Ibom State.

He further stated that like in 2006,the GGG would stand along the path of a credible and transparent electoral process that would see to the emergence of a successor in 2015.

“At the appropriate time, Stakeholders in the State will make their stand known with regards to the political future of the State. For now, the peoples voice must be heard and respected”,Chief Isong added.
It would be recalled that recently, stakeholders in Akwa Ibom converged under the leader of Senator Effiong Bob to chart a course for the re-election of President Jonathan and the unity of the state.
