The Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Projects, Akparawa Ubong David Etuk has added yet another feather to his cap as over the weekend he was formally inducted as a member of Ndiya Lions Club, of Region 3 Akwa Ibom State and honoured with an Award of Excellence presented to him in recognition of his humanitarian services in the society by Uyo Royal Lions Club.
Lions Club International is a large family with 1.35million members in 45,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographic areas, making it the world’s largest volunteer service organization with the mission to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through the organization.
The ceremony which took place at the Village Hall, of Helnoe Suites in Uyo, saw official presentation/installation of 2013/2014 officers Uyo Royal Lions Club and Ndiya Lions Club respectively. Offices which officers were installed into were: the office of the president, 1&2 vice presidents, secretaries, membership Directors 1&2,3, Trail twister and Tamer. Also new members were inducted into Ndiya Lions Club among whom were; Lion (Akparawa) Ubong David Etuk, Lion Ime Ekefre, Lion Nseno Okon Ukpong and Lion Emem Okure.
Inducting the new Lions into the fold, the Uyo Lions Club President, Lion Ekon stated that as Lions their lives is that of rendering selfless services to their communities and leveling helping hands to the less privilege in terms of time and resources.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of membership certificates to the new lions and award presentation to distinguished sons of Akwa Ibom State for their selfless services to humanities in the state. The award recipients were; Lion (Akparawa) David Etuk, Barr. Raphael Etim, Apostle Edobong Ekpoh, and Rt. Hon. Uduout Jack.
In his response, Lion David Etuk commended the association for their coordination and congratulated the President of Ndiya Lions Club on his emergence as the president and his subsequent installation and his board of directors.
Lion David Etuk further promised that the new platform of honour in the Lions Club would chart more paths to rendering his continued services to humanity at all times.
