Akpabio’s family celebrate prince over PDP Man of the Year honour

The Akpabio’s family has united to celebrate the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on General duties, Prince Ukpong Akpabio following the recent conferment on him as the PDP man of the year, Essien Udim Chapter.
The peoples Democratic Party in Essien Udim had after a thorough assessment of the qualities and attributes of the Political Science graduate found him worthy to be decorated as the PDP man of the year for 2013 in an event that was attended by all the stalwarts of the PDP in the state led by the Party Chairman Obong Paul Ekpo.

The event was held penultimate weekend and attracted the who is who in the Akpabio’s family and beyond,they all had kind words for Prince Akpabio who is being regarded as the pillar of Essien Udim youths.
Ibanga Akpabio in his goodwill message noted that the decision of the PDP in Essien Udim to honour Prince Akpabio with the PDP man of the year 2013 could not have come at a better time than now.


The state PDP secretary observed that over the last couple of years, the invaluable contributions of Prince Akpabio to the growth and sustenance of the party not only at the Local Government level but also at the state level is worthy of commendation to which the party is very proud to identify with.
He added also that the induction of Prince apart from being well deserved, speaks volumes of the selflessness, dedication and loyalty that the Governor’s PA has shown to the party.

“On the strength of the above and onbehalf of myself and my family, I heartily congratulate you on your meritorious recognition and honour and pray that God should take you to the commanding height of your political career” IbangaAkpabio’s goodwill message concludes.

Sir and Lady Emem Akpabio in a goodwill message said they are glad that Prince Akpabio is the chosen one because he fits into the whole idea of PDP man of the year Essien Udim Chapter. Sir Emem Akpabio described Prince Ukpong Akpabio as a man who has stayed true and faithful to what makes the Peoples Democratic Party noting that the younger Akpabio have built bridges that have enhanced the advancement of the values of the great Party.
He further described Prince Ukpong Akpabio as a discovered Ambassador of his generation and expressed confidence that his toil to leave a legacy for the next generation shall not be in vain.

The member representing Essien Udim at the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Akpan in his words said the awardee is well deserved of the award given his years of selfless service to the society and the party.

Akpan who also doubles as the Deputy Chief Whip of the 5th Assembly described Prince Akpabio as a man whose philanthropy are exemplary and urged the awardee to see the award as an instrument that will give him more impetus for greater service to the people of Essien Udim and the society in general.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Essien Udim described Prince Akpabio as a son who has made them proud and hence deserves the award. Commenting under the auspices of the PDP ward Executive forum Essien Udim Chapter, the party in a goodwill message signed by Elder Friday Abattai, Chapter Coordinator,CamillusNdaha, Chapter Secretary and NdifrekeUdomah National Secretary, the body urged the award recipient not to relent in his drive to ensure that he protects and defends the image, integrity and values of the party at all fora.

The PDP in Ukana West 2 while commending Prince Akpabio for the award, described him as an icon and a man with consistent track record of service to humanity. They however prayed God to bless Prince Ukpong Akpabio in all the things he engages himself to do.

Others who sent in goodwill messages where, Council Chairmen, House of Assembly members, Commissioners amongst students and youth groups as well as the Students Union Government of the University of Uyo.
Also, the Essien Udim Chapter Chairman of the PDP, Elder Friday Udoh while congratulating Prince Akpabio on-behalf of other members of the PDP urged the awardee to continue in his good works for the party as according to him, his works will not go un-noticed.

Meanwhile a brief citation of Prince Akpabio indicates that the University of Uyo law under graduate was born on the 19th of December, 1976 to late Justice Nsima Akpabio and ObongAnwanMfon-AbasiNsima Akpabio in Ukana Ikot Ntuen Essien Udim Local Government Area. Prince Akpabio, the citation reveals attended Holy Child Nursery School, Ikot Ekpene and Methodist Primary School, Utu Ikot Ekpene were he obtained his first School leaving Certificate in 1987 before heading to Federal Government College Ikot Ekpene were he obtained his Senior Secondary Certificate in 1993.

In 1995, Prince Akpabio was admitted into the University of Uyo were he graduated with a B.Sc in Political Science and Public Administration in 2000 before heading to the Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor’s Office at the Government House In Uyo for the mandatory National Youth Service Corp. He is described as a hardworking fellow who is diligent in his duties. Between November 2012 till date, he has served in different positions of trust such as, the Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Akwa Ibom State between 2002 to 2003. He has also served as the Personal Assistant to the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs between 2003 and 2006. For theyear 2006 to 2007, he had served as the personal Assistant to the commissioner for Lands and Housing in Akwa Ibom State. From Ist June 2007 till date, Prince Akpabio has served the Executive Governor of the state Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio as his Senior Personal Assistant on General duties.

The citation of the University of Uyo political Science graduate indicates that Prince Akpabio is a man of goodwill and a committed investor in human capital and community development which has earned him many accolades, awards and honours from respectable individuals, organizations and communities within the shores of Nigeria. So far he has garnered awards and recognitions such as; OtuekongOffotUkwaClan 2009, AtuekongIbong Ikot Akan, Ikot Ekpene LGA, 2009, EduekNkwot Clan, Ikono LGA, 2010. He has also won the African Gold credibility award at Abuja in 2012. In the same year 2012, he emerged as the Law Students Association of Nigeria, LAWSAN man of the year award even as he also emerged the AduduUjoMkparawa Essien Udim still in 2012 and also was honoured by the people of Arochukwu in Abia State as the Nwanne Di Namba1 of Ihechiowa, Arochukwu.

In 2013, Prince Akpabio was honouredand decorated by Ekid people as Obong UnwamEkid while the people of Nsit Ibom honoured him as the UbokUdom Nsit Ibom and as the year 2014just began, the people of Essien Udim found him fit to be honoured with an award as the UbokudomMkparawa Essien Udim.
Otuekong Prince Ukpong Akpabio is married to Ndifreke and the union is blessed with kids.
