How did Akwa Ibom become the leader in hi-tech founders in Nigeria?
There is a quiet revolution in Nigeria. Technology and online companies are springing up, with talent attracted by the low startup costs and the millions that can be made with a small number of staff.

There is a little known secret in this industry - a small state in the south-south is playing a big role in the technology industry - and nobody is aware of it.

You cannot mention major technology and online companies in Nigeria without mentioning companies like WildFusions (the biggest online agency in Nigeria), Hotels.ng (The biggest online hotel booking portal in Nigeria), PageNanny (the tech-managed host for most major sites in Nigeria like BellaNaija, notjustok, 360nobs.com etc), Anakle (responsible for digital media for GT-Bank, Shell, etc).

A prominent indigene of Oro nation has called on Oro youths to eschew divisive tendencies but should come together to form a formidable front for the actualization of Oro 2015 Agenda.
Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem made the call Tuesday December 31, 2013 on the occasion of the Oro World Youth Conference, organized by the Essu-Nlap Oro Development Organisation- (the supreme Council of Oro Nation Youth,) at Oruko Unity House, Urue Offong/Oruko LGA.

Dr. Ekuwem, who spoke through Prince Chris Abasieyo at the event, which attracted the who is who in Oro nation including former National Vice-Chairman of PDP, South-South, Chief Edet Nkpubre, President General of Oro Union, Engr. Asukwo Inuikim Pro -chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University, Prof. Okon Eminue, Chairman UrueOffong/Oruko LGA Chief Okon Osung and Managing Director, Akwa Savings and Loans Limited, Mr. Effiong Akwa, charged Oro youths not to lose faith in the collective struggle of Oro nation to produce the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Dr. Ekuwem maintained that, it was the turn of Oro nation the largest sub-ethnic group in Eket senatorial district, to take a slot at the plum job in the spirit of justice, equity and fairn. He explained that it would amount to gross injustice if other ethnic nationalities failed to support Oro nation in 2015, to occupy the Hilltop mansion, when the area had supported Uyo and Ikot Ekpene senatorial districts to produce Governors.
