I am glad to meet you again friends, I trust  God that our previous edition was a blessing to you.

I want to begin this edition with a question to you. How many people of great potential have you known? Where did they all go? If people of great potential stop, it’s because they don’t build on their victories.

There are two distinct times when a person is most likely to quit: after a mistake and after not born.

Environment: Waste Management Company

If you have passion for cleanliness, you can start a waste management business. Because it is capital intensive, you will need to source for partners after acquiring the business plan.

True to the adage that says “cleanliness is next to godliness”, the relevance of waste management is timeless and fundamental to the daily existence and effective running of any society.

Indeed, smelly gutters, poorly managed and overflooded refuse dumps, garbage-riddled roadways and filthy facilities amongst others, remain the borne of many towns and cities in the country today. As such, you can start a waste management company in your local government area or your State capital by partnering with the State Ministry of Environment.

Making the best of 2014

Our parents taught us to study hard while in school, participate in sports and join various clubs. They taught us that these things would lead to good, steady sand secure jobs throughout life but they were wrong! There is no security left in corporate Nigeria. Gone are the days when we all went to school and got a job with a big company and then got on a fast track to an ever increasing rank and salary. Corporate consolidation, corporate corruption, outsourcing and downsizing has put an end to that era. However, one lesson that still holds significant in our parents advice is that preparation is the key that opens the door to accomplishments.

Uyo places traditional injunction at FIRST BANK along Ibom Plaza

Uyo places traditional injunction at FIRST BANK along Ibom Plaza
Businessmen and  transporters around the vicinity of First bank at Ibom plaza came to witness a shocking scene in front of the bank premises on Sunday morning. Three plantain trees were planted in a triangular form in front of the bank, thereby blocking the main entrance to the building. Wrapped across was a red ribbon preventing anyone from passing into the bank.

At the time of this report, no official of the bank was present as people watching the scenes were left in awe. Our reporter who queried the traders and some people around the bank gathered that the injunction was placed by unknown persons, probably in the midnight. Some of them suspected that the bank might have had issues with the owners of the building, and hoped that those involved would immediately settle the problem for the benefit of the customers. Although ATM withdrawal went on without hitch, passersby and customers expressed fear on the implication of the injunction.

It is generally known in Ibibio land that injunction of that sort depict warning. However, more contemporary method have been employed especially by government agencies while trying to send warning across. A customer, who spoke on anonymity condemned the act, saying it is barbaric and old fashioned. He opined that a more civilized method of expressing displeasure with the bank would have been better.

None of the Senior staff of the bank could be reached for comments as at press time.

Start a business centre

 Start a business centre

A business centre, in the Nigerian context, is an establishment where services such as: typesetting, photocopying, scanning, spiral binding, lamination, and internet surfing (browsing) etc. are carried out.

The business centre can be expanded to include other services like: sales and repair of computer, sales of Examination scratch cards like WAEC, NECO, JAMB, etc; sales of recharge cards of all denominations, and call centre operations. For a business center to be profitable, it requires dedication. The economy has created a vast opportunity for business centers to thrive as the business provides sustainable income to operators as a result of its high level of patronage.

Akwa Ibom SSG Spits fire- Why govt. can’t build industries
I am from Eket senatorial district

It was a cold Monday morning in Uyo and it was time for select Publishers and Editors of print media Houses to meet with the secretary to the State Government Mr. Udom Emmanuel. This meeting though was at the instance of the SSG was called quickly the week after the SSG had visited his Awa ward to revalidate his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party where he was accused to have made away with the ward register and strucked out a name to replace with his own.
But what was the essence of the meeting? Was it for the SSG to clear the air on his visit to Onna or to speak up on his rumoured interest in the forthcoming 2015 gubernatorial election for the position of the Governorship of Akwa Ibom State? This story will reveal.
