The new Chairman of Akwa Starlets Football Club, Hon. Emmanuel Ibah last Friday met with supporters of the team for a formal introduction as well as familiarity visit since his emergence as the club chairman.
The meeting took place at the Supporters’ Club House in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Addressing the supporters, Hon. Emmanuel Ibah said his visit to the supporters was to meet and know them as his administration in the club is willing to carry all members along.
Hon. Ibah commended the supporters for their zeal and passion for the team during and after their first home match at Uyo township stadium. He promised to carry the supporters along in the scheme of things, adding that the supporters are a very important part of the team. According to the chairman “we will do everything possible to carry all parties along in the club especially the supporters, we will be transparent in everything that we will do”.
The Team Manager of the club, Mr. Carmike Ukpabio thanked the supporters for standing with the team during the last football season even as he called on them to extend the same support to 2013/2014 football season adding that supporters has always been the key of success of any football club. In his words “the new management of our football club will try their very best to win and for us to achieve this, we can never do without the supporters. So that was why we decided to come and meet you people”.
Responding, the chairman of Akwa Starlets Supporters Club, Mr. Emmanuel Effiong thanked the management crew of the club for recognizing and willing to work with the supporters. He used the opportunity to present to the club chairman all the needs of the supporters even as he promised on behalf of the supporters to always cheer the team to victoryat both home and away matches.
