Motherhood is an assign ment. To any woman that fulfils this assignment, there is a reward from
God. No one can replace a parent’s role in the life of a child. The
outlook a child forms towards life depends a lot on the parent. Among
the parent, the mother has a larger role to play in a child’s life. It
is true that many women do not have any clue on what traits make a good
mother. It’s possible to be a nanny, a good Aunty both in the classroom
and at home but that does not qualify you a true mother.
There
is a necessary ingredient in being a true mother that is flexibility. A
true mother accepts flexibility as a responsibility irrespective of her
temperament, career or background. It is a necessity for a mother to
adjust her lifestyle to the current and ever changing needs of the
child. I wouldn’t make a mistake if I say there are many who may have
felt unloved and abandoned as kids, and this affects their lives as
adults such that they do not even think of forgiving their parents.
