AKFA election was free and fair - Hon Ukpe

The recently concluded election into the Board of the State Football Association was transparent, free and fair. One of the delegates to the election and Chairman Etim Ekpo Local Government Football Association, Hon. Nkopuyo Ukpe who made the observation while speaking with Sports Journalists in Uyo shortly after the election, described the emergence of Mr. Emmanuel Ibah as the State FA Chairman as the best thing to happen to Akwa Ibom State Football.

 Hon Ukpe noted that within his few days in office as the Supervising Chairman of the State Football Association, Mr. Emmanuel Ibah performed credibility well and introduced new innovations aimed at taking Akwa Ibom State Football to the next level. “Within three months in office as the Chairman Normalization Committee of the State Football Association, Mr. Emman Ibah made a difference. He introduced new innovation which had been widely commended. In fact, within three months, he surpassed the achievements recorded by the previous Board in 12 years. So, I believe strongly that he will perform well and the sky will be his limit”, the Etim Ekpo FA Chairman stated.
On his plans for Football in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, the former Councilor thanked the Transition Committee Chairman, Hon Godson Uwah for donating a well-furnished office to be used by the Local Football Association.
He hinted that plans are underway to organize secondary schools football competition in the area and also revive the chairman’s cup Football Competition.
According to Hon. Ukpe, the local football association will do its best to make sure that hidden football talents abound in the area are discovered, nurtured and exposed to the state, national and international limelight.
On the chances of Akwa United winning the Federation Cup this year, the Etim Ekpo FA Chairman explained that the state-owned football outfit has all it takes to win the trophy for the first time in the 28-years history of the state.
