Umana flags off statewide guber campaign today

The All progressives Congress (APC)  governorship candidate for Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, will start his election campaign tour of the state on Tuesday, 13 January 2015, with a mega rally in Abak. The rally, which is scheduled to hold at the Abak Township Stadium, will start at 12 pm (midday).

The commencement of Umana’s statewide election campaign follows the presentation of the party flag to him by the presidential candidate of the APC, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, at a presidential rally in Uyo last week, stamping a seal of approval on Umana as the flag-bearer of the APC in the upcoming governorship election in the state.

A statement by the Director Media and campaign committee of UOU 2015 Mr. Iboro Otongaran indicates that highlights of the rally at Abak will include the official presentation of the party manifesto and Umana’s economic and social blueprint to the state; and the unveiling of his running mate, Engineer Ben Ukpong, to the electorate and members of the public in general.

Umana will also present the flag of the party at the rally to APC candidates for the various positions in the general elections, ranging from the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives to the Senate.
APC state chairman, Dr Amadu Attai will lead members of the state executive committee of the party and other party stalwarts to the rally.

All APC leaders, stakeholders, supporters and party faithful as well as members of the public are invited to the campaign rally.
