Aftermath of PDP primaries: Patrick Udomfang charges supporters to vote PDP
One of the leading contenders to the Abak Federal Constituency Seat at the recently concluded PDP primaries, Barr. Patrick Udomfang last weekend displayed what some people described as the highest level of party loyalty when he hosted his supporters in “a thank you ceremony.”

The event which took place at his country-home, Midim in Abak local government area was attended by a cream of personalities including members of Udomfang Divine Network Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika Chapters, executive and members of Abak Youth Liberation Forum, members of Udomfang Divine Campaign Organization, Party Chieftains among others. 

In his welcome remark, the Deputy Director General of Barr. Patrick Udomfang Divine Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Jude Edem who stood in for the Director general, Barr. Aniema Etuk, thanked the supporters and the entire people of Abak Federal Constituency for their love, support and show of solidarity to Barr. Patrick Udomang.

He commended Barr. Udomfang for his courage and wisdom to invite his supporters for a thank you ceremony. “For our Principal to have the courage and wisdom to invite us and say thank you, Barr. Patrick Udomfang deserves commendation,” the former two-term Councilor stated.

While appealing for continuous loyalty to Barr. Udomfang, Rt. Hon. Jude Edem prayed God to bless them and wished them a very prosperous New Year.

Addressing the gathering, the Convener, Barr. Patrick Udomfang who started by singing praises to God, thanked God for keeping them alive to see the year, 2015. “If I was not alive till 2015, we would not have sit like this. So, we have every reason to thank God that we are all alive till 2015. We have every reason to pray to God for keeping us” the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs stated. 

Barr. Udomfang who thanked his guests for honouring his invitation, explained that the recently concluded Choir Competition which was organized in honour of his late father and mother was not to show case wealth or political affluence, but to bring love, unity and togetherness among churches in the area. “My happiness is that I did not abandon my supporters, I fought as a politician and I campaigned as a politician. One of the reasons I called my supporters is that we did not lost the elections, but instead, the election was taken from us”, the former Secretary Abak Local Government Council remarked.
Barr. Udomfang informed that despite what had happened, he still remains a loyal and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and called on all his supporters not to be aggrieved, but should join hands together and work for the success of PDP at the forth-coming elections. 
 
“I decided to call you today to tell you that I still remain a loyal member of the PDP. Don’t be aggrieved again. God knows what He has for us tomorrow. You can not fight the party, you can not direct the party. We must support the party to move ahead. Let us not derail from the loyalty and commitment to the party” Barr. Udomfang appealed. 

He advised his supporters not to support opposition party, but should rather work for the success of PDP in Abak, Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria in general. Others who spoke including Mr. Anthony Udotim, Mr. Iboro Joseph Udoh and Mr. Dominic Udontuk onbehalf of the people of Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika respectively, showered praises on Barr. Udomfang, describing him as an outstanding politician whose qualities and examples should be emulated.

The pledged their readiness to work for the success of PDP at all levels during the forth-coming election.

On his Part, the PDP Chairman for Abak, Obong Udobong Mbeje saluted the courage of Barr. Patrick Udomfang stressing that such qualities are rear in today’s politics.

Obong Mbeje described Barr. Udomfang as a loyal and committed partyman whop has always worked for the success of the party over the years.
The party Chairman called on all to vote for PDP at all levels during the forth-coming election.

He called on politicians to emulate Barr. Udomfang who has decided to mobilize his supporters to work for the success of the party rather than defecting to other party.
