Oron PDP Women Leaders hail Akpabio, Udom Emmanuel, Moses Ekpo, Tabasco, ’Ors over polls victory
Prominent PDP women  leaders and activists in Oron Local Government Area have described the emergence of Chief Godswill Akpabio (CON) as Senator- elect for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District; Deacon Udom G.Emmanuel as Governor-elect and his Deputy Mr Moses Ekpo, as well as Rt Hon Chief Nelson Efiong, he Senator-elect for Eket Senatorial District as the best thing to happen to Akwa Abasi Ibom State.

Rising from their caucus meeting in Oron, the PDP women leaders maintained  for Governor Akpabio’s to have the foresight in spotting Deacon Udom Emmanuel on time as his worthy successor and following that remarkable vision with enormous moral support which culminated in Udom’s convincing success, is a feat that will  definitely shore up and sustain  the uncommon transformation  agenda of the state.
The women leaders who also described the duo of Elder Nse Ekpeyong, House of Representatives Member-elect for Oron Federal Constituency, and Hon Efiong Okon Bassey (Popularly known as Attih) as the beginning of refreshingly commendable political, economic and industrial renaissance for Oron nation.

Briefly journalists in Oron soon after their caucus meeting to review the unique roles played by the women groups in Oron Local Government before, during and after the elections, the chairperson of the Oron PDP Women Leaders Forum, Lady (Mrs) Ansa Charles Efiong restated the total commitment of Oron Local Government Women leaders and their different socio-political awareness and undiluted loyalty to PDP can never be comprised.

Also speaking, a prominent woman leader in Eyo-Abasi group of villages and a two-time member of Oron Local Government Executive Council, Evang (Mrs) Sarah Efretuei, disclosed that the women groups would be tremendously mobilized and encouraged to remain focused, steadfast and aligned with the incoming administration of Deacon Udom G. Emmanuel

Other notable PDP Women leaders who spoke at the occasion including Mrs Eno Eta, Mrs Nkoyo Cyril Bassey all pledged their continuous orientation and sensitization of Oron Local Government women to embrace and see the Peoples Democratic Party as a large umbrella that has enough size to accommodate everyone in all ramifications.

The Oron PDP women leaders who also expressed optimism that the 35% affirmative action would increase the women’s slots in appropriate empowerment and welfare packages similarly posited that more women should be encouraged to venture into elective positions as the local government elections draw near.

Looking into the future of Akwa Ibom State under the leadership of Deacon Udom Emmanuel and Obong Moses Ekpo, the Oron Local Government Women Feaders Forum concurred with his track records, antecedents and pedigree in banking, management and industrial sectors, the governor-elect and his deputy will surely take the state to the higher and magnificent pedestal.
