Brazil emerges champions of Shelter Afrique mock world cup

Team Brazil emerged champions of the  maiden edition of the Shelter Afrique world cup.

Brazil faced Nigeria in the final after the sides brushed aside challenges from team Iran and Spain respectively in their semi-final duels.

The pulsating final in the “chop chop arena” was decided in the 32nd minute of the encounter courtesy of a pile driver by Brazilian midfielder Isong Akpan after some nice footwork by Chris Oruma.

Nigeria were reduced to 10-men after some moment of madness in the 62nd minute saw defender Nsikak Edet shown a straight red card for kicking Brazilian midfielder Martins Bill who was off the ball at the moment. Despite a late rally by the Nigerian side, Brazil held on to win 1-0.

Meanwhile in the third place match played earlier, Spain led by the commissioner of finance, Bassey Albert lost 2-0 to Iran courtesy of a 38 minute smart finish by Imoh Essien ‘Dew’ and a wonderful solo effort by the chairman of Ibiono Ibom LGA Godwin Ekpo.
