The state Deputy Governor, Noble lady Valerie Ebe says she has not anointed or adopted anybody for any of the elective positions come 2015 as insinuated in some quarters.
THE INK gathered from the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ikemesit Smith yesterday that Lady Valerie Ebe has not adopted nor sponsored anyone to contest any election whatsoever. He maintained that anyone who says the Deputy Governor, Lady Valerie Ebe has told him or her to run an election especially with regards to 2015 is not being fair.
Smith stressed that Lady Ebe who has been in politics and understands the nitty-gritty of it will not and cannot jump the gong by asking or not asking a particular person to contest. He added that the Deputy Governor is a mother who sees every person as her children and therefore will not want to take such stands.
“The Deputy Governor, Her Honour Noble Lady Valerie Ebe is for now very busy with the complementing role she is playing to the State Governor, His Excellency Chief Godswill Akpabio, she is not thinking of 2015, she is doing her responsibilities as the Deputy Governor of the state and therefore it is funny that some people have resorted to using her name albeit in a wrong manner ahead of the 2015 elections.
Let me for the sake of emphasy and clarity stress here that the Deputy Governor has not anointed anybody for either the position of the House of Assembly or that of House of Representatives or any other position for that matter. She is busy doing her work of the Deputy Governor and should not be distracted into obviously what is still in the hands of God.” Smith stressed.
Speaking further, the Deputy Governor’s Spokesman said, Lady Valerie Ebe will not be distracted from the services of Akwa Ibom people. He however appealed to politicians who have their eyes on elective positions either for themselves or their principals to stop dropping the name of Lady Valerie Ebe.
Smith further disclosed that the Deputy Governor Lady Ebe as a matter of policy has refused to discuss the 2015 politics and is waiting on the Governor who is the leader of the party to show the way when the time comes. Her Honour remains loyal to the state Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio and will not attempt any act capable of causing disaffection in the political party, PDP.
He however harped on the need for politicians to play politics by the guiding rules and regulations and not drag his Boss into the argument and intrigues of the forthcoming elections.
