Akpabio, Okpolupm Etteh, Bishop Akpan

It is no longer news that the relationship between the trio is cold. It is not surprising either. Every serious politician in the state definitely has a story to tell. A story of falling apart with the Governor because of certain interests here and there.  Followers of the political calendar in the state will agree that once in a while, these things happen but how they are managed has always gone a long way to show the seriousness of politicians in either getting what they want or living in the past.

It is true that Governor Godswill Akpabio in his undeterred efforts to hand over power to his SSG Udom Emmanuel who hails from Eket federal constituency must have told his former right hand man Bishop Samuel Akpan and the leader of the State House of Assembly Hon Okpolupm Etteh from the same federal constituency to shut down their ambitions of emerging as the Governor of the state for the sake of Udom Emmanuel. It is also true that the duo had expressed anger and told him to the face that they will not shut down and that they will go ahead to challenge for the space of governing Akwa Ibom State.

It is worrisome that Governor Akpabio will at this early stage contemplate persuading these two to shut down. It is too early for such offer when all those ones are hearing is that they will win. Okay let us put it very succinct, what is the political strength of Akpabio to that of Okpolupm Etteh and again if Akpabio was Bishop Akpan will he shut down after what befell him at his last quest for Eket Senate seat?

Well, it is clear, they fought back and told the Governor to the face that they will go into the field and if they fail, they fail there. It is instructive to understand that this journey has just begun and we expect more of such banters. May Godswill be done in 2015
