Obong Attah hits Umana Umana
* Says, I can’t support your governorship ambition because you are a betrayer
Former Secretary to state Government, Obong UmanaUmana’s ambition to succeed Governor Godswill Akpabio appears to be suffering a terrible blow following the red card that is given to him by the immediate past Governor of the state, Arch (Obong) Victor Attah.
After many efforts by Umana to meet with Obong Attah had failed flat, the ex-Governor who is generally referred to as the warrior of resource control and the father of Modern Akwa Ibom was said to have been prevailed upon by one of his close man, Maj. (Gen) Edet Akpan, Rtd, to grant audience to UmanaUmana and at least listen to what he has to say.
Jonathan angry with Akpabio
* Meets ex Gov. Attah, explains grouse with Akwa Ibom Governor
The nation’s President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had met exclusively with Obong Attah in Abuja to discuss on matters bothering the country, the PDP and Akwa Ibom state. The meeting which was held behind closed doors was at the instance of the President who is said to have prevailed on Obong Attah not to dump the PDP which he helped to birthed as a founding father. The President is said to have also sought the support of Obong Attah in his leadership of the country and his future political moves.
Sources say Dr. Goodluck Jonathan had to institute the meeting with the ex Akwa Ibom Governor with the wake of the recent and massive decampment of politicians from the party and also with the information that the opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), were putting Obong Attah under pressure to dump the Umbrella party for them. Although those who are close to Attah said the former Akwa Ibom Governor was not considering joining the APC, political pundits in the corridors of Aso Rock Villa explained to our reporter in Abuja that the President of the country is not leaving anything to chance in his quest to unite every member of the party.

Maximizing your potentials (Part 1)
In Genesis 1:27; the Bible says ‘God created man in his own image and likeness’. We all acknowledge the wonders that he performed in the days of old even in our own days. This is the attribute we should possess at all time. We all are beneficiaries of this grace but to effectively utilize it and make a reality we need to maximize our potentials.
What is potential? According to Advanced Learners’ Dictionary; Potential is simply defined as something that can be developed in the future. In terms of the noun; Potential refers to the possibility of something happening or being developed or used. I will also put it this way that potential simply means the power or quality that exist and is capable of being developed. From the definition of Potential given above, worth noting are quality that exist; developed; happening; power; possibility etc. these phrases mentioned above should be able to give you a comprehensive knowledge of what potential is all about.
Homosexuality and Nigerian campuses BY AKANIMO KINGSLEY
Africa, a continent with natural uniqueness has always been a subject of experiment by western powers in terms of politics and imperialism. Perhaps, Europe was able to successfully implant her culture on the continent, yet there are several African norms that will never fade away irrespective of external influence. This is evident in the massive support by Nigerians on the recently signed anti same sex marriage law. In my view, it is not enough to applaud the presidential gesture. The law has been passed but the future of Nigerian youths who engage in this act of pleasure is what we must not take for granted. It is on this note that I choose to tow our minds towards homosexuality in our campuses and how to curb it.
