The Government of France has expressed the confidence that the relations between France and the present administration in Akwa Ibom will take a new turn.
The Consul General, French Embassy, Lagos, Mr. Francois Sastourne gave this indication in a note of appreciation to Governor Godswill Akpabio, following his successful visit to Akwa Ibom, recently.
According to the diplomat, “French enterprises will be looking at the recent developments conducted under your authority and I am sure that they will be as impressed as I was by the “transformation extraordinaire” that is going on.”
He particularly restated his confidence that French business concerns, especially Schneider Electric, will be willing to be a part of the good development in Akwa Ibom.
The French envoy, while emphasizing the commitment of the French government to help promote the study of French language in Akwa Ibom, also indicated the willingness to help more Nigerian students study science, technology, engineering, etc, in France.
It would be recalled the Consul General recently visited Akwa Ibom, inspected facilities like the e-library, the Ibom Tropicana entertainment Centre and thereafter described the uncommon transformation programme of Governor Godswill Akpabio as transformation extraordinaire
