An open letter to the President Commander- in-chief of Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR

An open letter to the President Commander- in-chief of Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR

“Don’t allow discipline to suffer a sharp decline, this time around they should be no “long leg” or man know man, even though it has been infected into the vocabulary of the Nigerian public, allow justice to prevail, if not your respect will be thrown to dogs. If I reference the case of Ibrahim Saisu Buhari the speaker of House of Representative, the then speaker’s case was triggered off when the news magazine came out with a story titled “The Face of a Liar”, he falsely claimed to hold a degree in business administration from University of Toronto in Canada, and also falsified his age”

Sir, the entire Akwa Ibom people greet you. We want you to save our state from terrible maladies afflicting us, as a true Nigerian, we implore you to please devote a lot of time to think of the social and political ills plaguing our state and possible remedies.

Your Excellency Sir, your motive should be purely patriotic, right from the onset, the foundation laid by Akpabio was so badly structured, and as such no patch-up could avert the eventual collapse. He is every inch a tribalist as well as very ambitious and vindictive with a kind of unwarranted arrogance. Most respectfully sir we want you to make something beautiful out of the political polluted Akwa Ibom State, we have witnessed one of the worst looting and most reckless spending of state wealth.

Many have come to Akwa Ibom political scene and many have gone, most of them who have left the seat of power may not be remembered again except going through the records, but there are some that will be remembered either for their atrocities or for their good qualities, Akpabio is one of them. Akwa Ibom people will never forget or forgive him for his crimes; he is morally corrupt with a bankrupt mind. He has failed the state woefully; only drastic changes and an outright transformation would serve the situation. He is power drunk and stands to eliminate all opponents against his political ambition.

Almost everything in the state has reached a critical turning – point, I am telling you point blank that you should strengthen our confidence and be fully conscious of your ordained position, don’t undermine the good people of Akwa Ibom State, allow Akpabio to be dealt with according to the law. This will serve as as a deterrent and warning to all those who incline to peddle falsified documents and seek to take their people for granted. The present case in the court of Appeal between Engineer Frank Okon and Godswill Akpabio will determine.

Don’t allow discipline to suffer a sharp decline, this time around they should be no “long leg” or man know man, even though it has been infected into the vocabulary of the Nigerian public, allow justice to prevail, if not your respect will be thrown to dogs. If I reference the case of Ibrahim Saisu Buhari the speaker of House of Representative, the then speaker’s case was triggered off when the news magazine came out with a story titled “The Face of a Liar”, he falsely claimed to hold a degree in business administration from University of Toronto in Canada, and also falsified his age. He simply resigned not only as speaker but as a member of the House; it was a major test case for President Obasanjo’s anti-corruption programme of which he passed excellently.

We are dispirited because we are trapped in dichotomy of falsehood. As William Gutteridge said “A situation which cannot be changed by constitutional means invite the use of violence measures. The opposition has been suppressed and repressed, Akpabio government is self perpetuating, tyrannical, corrupt and incompetent government. He behaves all along like a spoilt naughty person and have shown utter contempt for public opinion and seemed to believe that he is a special breed, divinely ordained to Lord it over the lesser beings. Be neutral, if not so it will be concluded in earnest that the presidency forced Justice Kafarati to deliver that undue judgment. Governor Akpabio has not driven a nail into the coffin of our objective. Mr. President Sir, without wasting time, please send a message to the chief judge of the federation that justice delayed is justice denied.

I thought I should let you know how we are thinking here while wishing you all the best.

Yours hopefully,
Akpandem
