NUJ Chairman offers students tips on success

NUJ Chairman offers students tips on success

The chairman, Nigeria union of journalists Akwa Ibom State Council, Elder Patrick Albert has charged students and youths to set goals for themselves in order to make the best out of what life offers them.

Elder Albert gave the tip in a paper he presented during the annual students week celebration of National Association Of Akwa Ibom State Students, Uyo City Polytechnic Chapter.

According to him, the kind of person you become is mostly up to you. “You can choose to make anything of what life gives to you either good, better or best, bad worse or worst. Within you is the power to influence the direction of your life”.

He stressed that, others who drop into your life or who pass by can only help hasten you up or slow you down, but you are the seed that determines what fruits the world is going to get from you.

Elder Albert explained further “you must discover your goals. Without goals you can become what you were; with goals you become what you wish. You can sense the direction your life is leading, if it is not leading where you want, you have the power to change your direction”.

The NUJ boss who was represented by the vice chairman of the union, Mrs. Florence Umoetuk observed that as students, they are a unique work of art in the making saying you are the artist, you choose to spring and shoot to the restof the world. You have the paint brush in your hands and every day the decision you make, your pattern of choices are making unique impression on the canvass of your life.

Elder Albert who was honoured with an excellent award in recognition of his selfless service to the growth of students and the society at large urged the students to develop their mind noting that, whatever you can imagine you can do.

In a related development, the management, board and staff of a frontline hospitality outfit, NANET HOTELS LIMITED have joined other well meaning individuals, corporations and organizations to congratulate the new NUJ executive council in the state led by Elder Patrick Albert.

In a letter signed by the Managing Director/CEO, Ini Akpabio the outfit noted that the election of Elder Albert was a proof of his acceptability and exemplary leadership of which they are proud to be associated with and prayed God to keep, guide and strengthen him in his service to the nation.
