The
draw for week 6 of the ongoing 3rd anniversary promo of StarTimes
Nigeria was held at the company’s headquarters office along IBB Avenue,
opposite the Ibom e-library in Uyo on Thursday 29th August, 2013.
The
draw is part of the 3rd Anniversary that StarTimes is currently
organizing nationwide to give back to its teeming subscribers and tell them
“thank you for patronizing StarTimes” according to the managing director of the
company in Uyo, Mr. Matthew Ojemaye.
Conducting
the draws, Mr. Collins Ibor, the systems engineer of the company in Uyo
reminded the participants that to qualify for the draws one has to buy a
decoder of N4, 900 and enjoy two months free subscription of their basic
bouquet or a decoder of N5, 900 and enjoy two months free subscription of their
unique bouquet while existing subscribers have to recharge their decoders for
at least N3, 000 to qualify. He also stated that all these also qualify the
person for the N1million draw.
High
point of the event was the presentation of prizes to last week winners where a
3-time lucky winner Mr. Obasi Loius Obinaju collected the 2nd prize of a C.R.T.
21 inches StarTimes television while Mr. Samuel Udo Nnah collected the 1st
prize of an L.C.D. 24 inches StarTimes television. The prizes were presented to
the winners by the M.D. of the company, Mr. Matthew Ojemaye.
The
first prize winner of last week’s draws Mr. Samuel Udo Nnah randomly picked the
first prize winner of this week’s draw who incidentally was the first winner
since the promo began to be present during the draws as a participant and also
coincidentally bears almost the same name as the person who picked him. His
name is Mr. Samuel Jacob Udo while the person who picked him is Mr. Samuel Udo
Nnah.
The
second prize winner was picked by Mr. Obasi Louis Obinaju who also was the 2nd prize winner of last week’s draw and a-3-time
lucky winner of the promo. The second prize winner for this week was Mr.
Patrick Morgan of Aka Itiam Street in Uyo. He bought the decoder two days
before the promo draws were held, according to him in a telephone conversation
with this reporter.
Expressing
his feelings after receiving his L.C.D. 24 inches StarTimes television, Mr.
Samuel Udo Nnah said “I am so excited and speechless for what StarTimes has
done. When I was called last week that I have won I did not believe it but
today I have seen that it is real. StarTimes is doing something great, they are
a great company. I encourage those who do not have StarTimes to link into StarTimes
as they have a lot of channels for their viewers to enjoy. It is also cheaper
than other pay TV channels. I say a very big thank you to StarTimes, I wish
people can see that my heart is “red” and henceforth I have become a StarTimes
evangelist. I will carry the StarTimes message anywhere I go”.
Also,
Mr. Obasi Louis Obinaju said “this is the second time I win a 2nd prize I
always win the first prize. I won a first time scholarship from my local
government as a student and I also won a Kia car from Crunchies when they did
their first promo. I have always been a winner and I know I’ll be among the
N1million winners. StarTimes has done well and I want to see them grow better
than this. Their signals are clear, it is simple to install you don’t need to
climb the roof, and when you have StarTimes people don’t know that you are rich
because when they see dish outside they know that something is happening there.
I say kudos to StarTimes, they are a blessing to our generation. My friend said
he is a StarTimes evangelist but I say that I am now a StarTimes bishop”.
In
a chat with newsmen after the occasion, the managing director of the company in
Uyo, Mr. Matthew Ojemaye intimated them that StarTimes will start operation in
16 state before the next two months in addition to the 16 states the currently
cover, hoping that before the end of the first quarter of next year the four
remaining states will be covered, to make them really nationwhide service
provider. He called on those who have not yet subscribed to StarTimes to do so
as their products and services are cheap, affordable and easy to maintain.
