Transport Commissioner urges Oro Youths to live above board It was indeed an historic scenario on the streets of Oron Local Government Area last month when Governor Udom Emmanuel and the campaign team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stormed the area to engender support for the party ahead of the 2019 General Elections in the State and Country. The youths numbering over five thousand were in T-shirts and fez-caps with the inscription, “Udom Promoters Council”, declaring total commitment towards the re-election of Governor Udom Emmanuel and all the PDP candidates in the State. Led by the Field Marshall and Grand Commander of the youths of Oro Nation, Rt. Hon. Orman, they were optimistic, that come rain, come shine they will deliver Governor Emmanuel and the PDP to victory at the polls. Addressing the mammoth crowd of the youths, the Commissioner for Transport and Petroleum Resources, Commissioner Esin noted that Governor Udom Emmanuel meant well for the Oron people and stressed the need for all the Oronians and indeed AkwaIbom People at home and abroad to stand for justice and support the second term bid of the incumbent Governor beyond 2019. He talked elaborately on the achievement of Governor Udom Emmanuel since assumption of office as the Executive Governor of AkwaIbom State, noting that the appointment of an Oro Son,In the person of Dr. (Engr) Emmanuel Ekuwem as the Secretary to the State Government speaks volume of Governor Emmanuel’s love for Oro people as a detribalized leader. Esin described Governor Udom Emmanuel as a God-fearing Leader, who has fused governance, politics, Christianity and spirituality together which has ultimately translated into peace and political tranquility we presently enjoy in Oro Nation and AkwaIbom State in general. He particularly praised him for the ambience which has made it necessary and possible for industries to spring up, which will in turn, employ our youths for economic empowerment. The Transport and Petroleum Resources boss urged the youths to eschew violence at all times and remain focused and productive every day of their lives even as they strive to elect Governor Emmanuel for a second term, promising to ensure they reap the fruits of their labor optimally once the governor was sworn in. He discouraged the youths from identifying with political failures like those of the APC, stressing that a vote for Udom Emmanuel was a vote for development, economic emancipation, Peace and tranquility, qualitative education, Agricultural revolution, industrial renaissance, spiritual upliftment and total infrastructural upgrade.
