A rapturous, warm reception awaits Gov Emmanuel in Urue Offong/Oruko - Elder Charles Emene

The people of Urue Offong/ Oruko Local Government Area, one of the areas in Oron Federal Constituency, reputed to be the core and intellectual base of Oro Nation, are said to be very enthusiastic and extremely anxious to receive the Divine Mandate campaign train of Governor Udom Emmanuel, come February 13.

Elder (Comrade) Charles Emene, a front line youth activist and Chairman of the PDP 2019 Media/ Publicity Campaigns Sub-Committee dropped the hint while fielding questions from newsmen on the spate of preparedness of stakeholders and people of Urue Offong/ Oruko towards hosting the governor and the PDP campaign team at the weekends.

Elder Emene said the tumultuous excitement permeating through the entire enclave was informed perhaps, by the number of political appointees from the area which, according to him, has never been by any administration in the State from 1987 when it was created, and that these appointees have in turn impacted on the people who are now happy with the administration of Governor Emmanuel hence, the joy over his coming.

He reaffirmed the dictum, “To whom much is given much is expected”, adding that the rally in Urue Offong/ Oruko will be the mother of all rallies, describing it as a home-coming for the governor.

The campaigns spokesperson listed Urue Offong/ Oruko sons and daughters appointed into government to include: Hon. Uno Etim Uno(Commissioner for Culture and Tourism) Chief Antigha Isong (Commissioner 1, Assembly Service Commission) Professor Peter Esuh(Chairman, Land Use and Allocation Committee) Hon. (Princess) Precious Senlong (Member, Uyo Capital City Development Authority)

Others are: Hon. Okpoyo Etifit(Member, Akwa Ibom Roads and Other Infrastructure  maintenance Agency) Mr. Effiong Albert Uko( Commissioner, Primary Health Care Commission) Engr. Effiong Essang (Member, Akwa Ibom State Scholarship Board) Dr. Sunday Enidiok( Commissioner, Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission) amongst numerous others.

On why Akwa Ibom people should expect an effusive welcome, Comrade Emene said all hands are on deck to once again evoke the traditional hospitality which has been the trade mark of the people from creation, on the entire State.

“All hands are on deck to ensure a successful 2019 PDP Campaign rally in our local government area. Urue Offong/ Oruko is PDP and PDP is Urue Offong/ Oruko. We shall continue to give the governor a resounding support until he is re-elected next month.”

The PDP stalwart enthused that the governor’s victory particularly in Urue Offong/ Oruko will be landslide, describing it as fait accompli.

“Because the governor loves our people and area as evident in the number of people engaged in the administration, we’ll reciprocate by not only giving him arousing welcome, but by actually voting for him”

The National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN) Chapter Chairman described the Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the area, Hon. Edeke Okpo Edeke, as a political strategist and master planner who is attuned to political rallies and has both the dynamism and masterstroke needed to host the State, urging all and sundry to attend.
