PAN African Women Projects town hall sensitization end in Uyo

PAN African Women Projects in Collaboration with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) held a Town Hall sensitization/advocacy workshop towards a transparent, peaceful and a credible 2019 general elections with the theme: Action Plan for Total Elimination of Electoral Offences including vote buying, political thuggery, and intimidation violence among others.

The event which took place at Ibom Hall, Uyo had in attendance representatives of all political parties in the state, political stakeholders, INEC Staffs, Security Agencies, Media, Youths and Women Group among others. Addressing the participants, the head of mission, PAN African Women Projects, Dr. (Mrs) E. Udensi said the mistakes of the past which plunged the Nigerian general elections into crisis should be avoided in the forthcoming general election.

Dr. Udensi said PAN African Women Project had her Head Office in South Africa with responsibility to enlightens and educates people on the need for violence free elections across African continent.


The Head of Mission advised all stakeholders in the electoral process to be guide against factional interest during the exercise to enable the INEC to conduct free, fair and credible elections devoid of violence.

Dr. Udensi stressed the need for the security agencies to provide securities in every polling unit across the state during the exercise.  

Udensi noted that Akwa Ibom State was choosing for the sensitization workshop because of the artificial violence spring out of a state adding that if it not well managed, it will escalate into the full flesh war zone and advised the perpetrators of the evil; to desist from it as Akwa Ibom State is known as a most peaceful state in Nigeria.

She said that PAN African Women Projects is training election’s observers that will observe elections in every unit and report same to group. She admonished the youths of the state not to allow themselves to be used as thugs by any political parties to cause mayhem during the elections as the law enforcement agencies will not spare anyone found wanting during and after the general elections.
