NGO declares support for Gov Emmanuel as chieftains dump APC to PDP in Esit Eket

As top Stakeholders and Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Esit Eket local government area defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Akwa Ibom, a non governmental organization in the State, the Network Advancement Programme for Poverty and Disaster Risk Reduction, NAPPDRR, has declared its undivided support to the re-election bid of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

NAPPDRR, in a statement by its President, Al Mustapha Emem Edoho, BoT member, Mr Jubil Uwem Edukere and Director of Public Communications, Mr Unwana Evans, indicates that its decision to support Governor Emmanuel stems from his industrial revolution of Akwa Ibom State,  ongoing Eket urban renewal project and numerous internal road projects in Esit Eket, saying as an NGO, its was part of its duties to support the Governor to complete the numerous ongoing projects across the State for the betterment of the entire Akwa Ibom people.

The NGO also stated that Governor Emmanuel’s profile in demonstration of fiscal discipline and  proper management of Akwa Ibom funds are part of the many reasons the Governor should be supported to continue till 2023.

The group in the statement also frowned at what it described as “outright rejection and robbing of Akwa Ibom State in the newly constituted board of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC”, adding that with such level maltreatment on Akwa Ibom State in the NDDC despite its contributions to the Commission, the people of the State should reject the APC in the forthcoming general elections at all levels.

The group further used the medium to advise the APC Governorship Candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere to withdraw from the race and allow Governor Emmanuel from  Eket Federal Constituency to go for a second term like his predecessors in office, saying the Constituency where the Governor comes from  is the highest producer of crude oil today in the State, judging from the quantum of oil production from the Department of Petroleum Resources(DPR).
