NFF inaugurates AKSFA Normalization Committee

Following the expiration of Chief Effiong   Johnson led executive and the lingering crisis that is currently rocking the Akwa Ibom State Football Association (AKSFA), the apex football body Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) last Saturday inaugurated a Normalization Committee to pilot the affairs of football administration in the state. The committee is to serve for a maximum period of three months.

They are: Hon. Emmanuel Ibah as Chairman, Hon. Iboro Udom, Hon. Patrick Ifon, Mr. Justice Udo Usoro as members while Mr. Joseph Eberefe will serve as the Secretary of the Committee.
  
The inauguration took place at the conference room, Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Inaugurating the committee, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau said the committee will be responsible for the day to day running of administration of the Association for the period of the assignment.
Alhaji Gusau who is the Chairman of FA Chairmen in the Board of NFF, noted that the committee is to normalize football activities in the state from the administration aspect of the secretariat to the strengthening of the relationship between all football stakeholders in Akwa Ibom State.


He further said the committee will liaise with all relevant agencies that will ensure the smooth running of the association within the given period of the assignment, adding that the committee must ensure a workable roadmap for election into the board of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association so that the committee can handover to an elected executive of the State AKSFA at the end of their three months period.

While assuring the committee of maximum cooperation from NFF, the delegation leader emphasized that as far as Akwa Ibom State is concern and with a stadium of international standard, the state is a strategic centre for sports development in Nigeria.

The Commissioner for Youth and Sports who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Nse Edem reminded the committee members that they are coming to sanitize football system in the state.
He said the government of the day is determined to ensure peace is sustained in the AKSFA and as far as football is concern and order sporting activities are being sponsored by the government.

Responding, the chairman of committee, Hon. Emmanuel Ibah promised to discharge their duties effectively without any fear or favour until a new executive of the Akwa Ibom State Football Association is elected.
