Uduot Jack threatens to kill opponents, Accused of planning to murder In-law

The Chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Govern ment Area Mr. Uduot Jack had gone hay wire and has moved with threats against all those who are against his ambition. THE INK understands that the council boss was about two weeks at the Uyo residence of his inlaw Mr. Murphy who is a lecturer with the University of Uyo to warn Mr. Murphy’s wife to tell her brother that should he be killed anytime from now, he should not say he didn’t come with such pre information. Reasons for the visitation it was gathered was that the said brother in law of Uduot Jack one Mr. Iniubong Imaeyen was not in support of the second term ambition of Jack to the Etim Ekpo Local Government Council as the Chairman.

A credible source from the Imaeyen family informed our reporter yesterday Monday that Uduot Jack had personally gone to see Mrs. Murphy in their Uyo residence and upon getting there, he informed the his host that he came to tell her that if her brother Iniubong dies, she should know that he had forewarned him. Uduot Jack is said to have added that he is saying what he said concerning the imminent murder of Imaeyen because he was at Government House some days ago and that when he went there to Government House, he saw Iniubong Imaeyen’s name on the blacklist of Government and that anytime from now, Government was going to kill Imaeyen. After delivering his message, Mrs. Murphy whose hubby is a PhD holder and teaches at the University of Uyo broke down in tears and hurriedly sent for her brother telling him to dump any support of his and hand it over to Uduot Jack so that Government will not kill him for the family.

But Imaeyen is said to have opi

ned that he is not going to surrender his support to anybody because of threats of intimidation or blackmail. Imaeyen is said to have informed his sister that there was nothing to worry about as he was not going to give in to the antics of the Council Chairman Uduot Jack whom he believes is not qualified for another term in the Local Government as Council Chairman.

When it appeared to Jack that Imaeyen was not ready to bend, a family source from Imaeyen’s family said to THE INK that Uduot Jack had again returned last week family to inform them that if Iniubong Imaeyen is killed, they should blame themselves as his, INiubong Imaeyen’s name is still in the black book of the Akwa Ibom State Government and that he may be killed soon. The council Chairman’s return had again created so much tension in Etim Ekpo and had increased the pressure on the Imaeyen’s family.

Iniubong Imaeyen in a bid to save his life had informed that he has since lodge a formal complaint with the Police and that he is sure the police will act on time to save him from being killed by Uduot Jack and the state Government. Watchers of political development in Etim Ekpo have however mentioned to THE INK that Uduot Jack is eyeing another term at the Council as the Chairman and that the refusal of some very prominent politicians in the area to support his ambition which they have since described as third term has forced the Etim Ekpo council helmsman to resort to threats and intimidation. A police source who refused his name in print speaking from one of the investigating offices of the police from Ikot Akpanabia Police headquarters informed that a certain IniUbong Imaeyen has sent in a petition and that the police will soon act on it. When asked if the immunity clause will not cover the Etim Ekpo Council boss, our police source said, the police knows how to do their job. Uduot Jack failed to respond to his calls as at press time and a text message to his known phone number was not responded to.

Meanwhile, a youth leader from Etim Ekpo had informed our reporter that with the way Uduot Jack is going about his third term agenda, if he does not take his time, hell will be let loose and he will be unhappy what they will turn the council secretariat to. It could be recalled that last two weeks when the campaign train of the SSG Udom Emmanuel made a stopped over at Etim Ekpo for consultations, youths had held Uduo Jack hostage and had beaten him up to a state of coma. When Uduot Jack recovered, he is said to have caused the arrest of some of the persons he suspected were behind his harassment and had locked them up. The action of the council boss against those youths almost threw the entire Local Government into a state of utter confusion. But competent sources said, a faction of the Elders had stepped into the matter to calm frayed nerves.
