Civil engineering put out an ebullient performance against their departmental rival; the department of agric-engineering. It was an arena for the two departments to display their God-given talent of football as the put out a superlative performance in the final game of their interdepartmental games.
The department of civil engineering dominated the game and went away with a well deserve 3:1 win over the department of agric engineering.
The first and second goal was scored in the first half of the match by Ubong Ewuere Ukot and Peter Godwin Effiong respectively.
The first goal was scored from a well taken free kick by Ubong which went over the wall and hit the cross bar and cross the goal line. The second was a combination of strength, brilliant and experience sol effort by Peter Godwin.
In the second half of the game, Ukeme made a well taken delivery to seal the win through a true pass from Enyeama Jnr. The consolation goal came from Enobong Udom who converted a free kick flown in by Evra.
The Director of Sport of the faculty; Samuel Udoh said “he thank God for a successful tournament and his exco. members for the supports they granted him which led to the success of the tournament”.
Comrade Samuel further said “the tournament started on the 4th of June and was suppose to also host female student of the faculty in the sport of handball. The female’s tournament could not succeed because of the number of female student in each department.
He also said the tournament was aim at showcasing talented players who will be selected into the faculty team which will represent the faculty in the upcoming inter faculty games bill to start on the 27th of June, 2014.
He finally thanks the Student Union Director of Sport: Ubokobong Obot FOR allowing him use the school facilities for the tournament.
