As Kumuyi storms Akwa Ibom BY SAVIOUR EKPE

As Kumuyi storms Akwa Ibom BY SAVIOUR EKPE

Akwa Ibom State in recent times is blessed with leaders with the fear of God in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities to the satisfaction of man, the glory of God and the delight of on lookers.
Judging particularly from the present administration, the state has witnessed what is now generally described as uncommon transformation.

Uncommon because from the creation of the then South Eastern States to the former Cross River State, the people of this part of the world have not witnessed the unprecedented development as experienced today not to talk of uncommon amenities and infrastructures that are sited in the state such as the building of about four (4) flyovers within three (3) years while others are springing up as days go by.

Today, roads in the state are wearing new looks as old roads were rehabilitated, new ones constructed including federal roads which were hitherto seen as the sole responsibility of the federal government.
Both the adjoining streets, avenues, major roads including roads leading to all local government headquarters are all constructed some with street lights, bridges, dualized and adorned with modern facilities, this is uncommon.
In the area of entertainment, the present administration has changed the entertainment sub-sector of the economy by building a 14 storey (first of its kind in this part of the world) Ibom Tropicana and entertainment centre with five star facilities including shopping mall, viewing centres, relaxation and recreational facilities for both children and young ones with gym apartments, this is in addition to the completion of the le-meridian Ibom Five Star Hotel with Golf course of international standard.

Time will fail me to mention of other uncommon projects such as the equipping at Ibom Power Company to supply power to the national grid with a proposal for 24 hours uninterrupted power supply in the state.
Free Medicare for children under five years, pregnant women and the elderly above sixty years of age, renovating and building of new health facilities across the state, above all the nearly completion of the 20th Anniversary hospital with five star facilities. What should I say about the new governor’s lodge with that of the deputy, new banquet hall, new government House press centre. Should I beam my searchlights on Ibom E-library, Olympic size stadium?

In education sector, the people of the state cannot forget in a haste the free, compulsory and qualitative education policy of the state government from Primary to senior secondary Schools for not only the Akwa Ibom State children but every Nigerian child resident in the state, which is followed up with the renovation and building of brand new school, these tripling the number of enrolment in the state led to the employment of thousands of teachers to these schools with the payment of incentives by the state government to school per head of each pupil/student.

In aviation sector, the state government on completion of the first phase of the Ibom International Airport, kick-started commercial operation and commenced the building of the second phase with the MRO facility.
Since security of life and property is the hallmark of the present administration, the state government has on regular basis purchased and distributed factory fitted security vans for security operatives in the state with standby quick response squad across the 31 local government areas of the state. These and many others are uncommon.

It is certain that an uncommon preacher, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi is visiting the state of uncommon transformation to perform uncommon miracles. He is termed an uncommon preacher because of his strict adherence to holiness preaching and holy living, simplicity, fair but firm disposition devoid of political inclination coupled with his systematic approach to issues. His ability and capacity to strictly adhere to his conviction from inception till date, ability to discipline his lieutenants and followers to imbibe the teaching of Christ at home, work place etc. stand him out as uncommon preacher.

Deeper life Bible church for the record started with 15 members at the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1973 by the former University Don, Dr. W. F. Kumuyi. The muster seed that was planted now has grown to a mega church situated in all the 774 local government areas in Nigeria, in all African countries, in Asia American Europe and all continents of the world with the gospel of the kingdom of God with repentant from sin, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning work and hope for the second coming of the Messiah and the rapture of the saints among others as his focal point.

As this international evangelist, apostle of holiness and  a carrier of miracles visit Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital from August 1 to 3, 2014 for a religious tour with the theme, “Uncommon wonders with the God of miracles” at the Deeper Life Camp Ground, Nung Uyo Idoro along Idoro Road to continue his visit to the 36 states of the federation and Abuja, great turn around in the state, diverse miracles which always accompany his administration such as soul salvation, restoration, revival, healings, deliverance etc. are expected to happen in the state.

It could be recalled that the visit of this man of God to other states of the federation was received with joy by all and Sunday including the governor of those states. Notably was the presence of governors of Imo, Owelle Rochas Okorochas; Bayelsa, Henry Dickson; Delta, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan and other governors who personally attended the programmes.

It therefore behooves the Akwa Ibom State government to stand by the Church in the state to put things in place for success of the programme including the tarring of the Nung Uyo Idoro road in line with the uncommon nature in which the present administration is known for, to accord the August visitor who is visiting the state in the month of August a befitting and rousing welcome and respect.

Since it may not be possible for the over 4million people in the state and beyond to attend the epochal event that would be staged in a venue with the capacity of expected 100,000 participants, it would be counted as part of the uncommon gesture if the state Governor, Chief Godswill Obot Akpabio, Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) would graciously directs that the programme be given a live telecast either on or both the AKBC (Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation) and other terrestrial media organization such as AIT (African Independent Television) or Channels television for the purposes of reaching wider audience with the blessing and mercy of God. Through the preaching of the gospel. This would be another uncommon gesture in an uncommon state by the uncommon Governor.
