Write us officially: Ikon tells defected AKHA members
BY EMMANUEL AKPAN

The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of  Assembly, Elder Sam Ikon has told all the defected members to put into writing, informing the House officially of their defection.

The Speaker stated this last week Thursday during Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly plenary session that was attended by over AKHA 19 members. Ikon said though he is aware that some PDP House members have defected to opposition parties as the fallout of the just concluded PDP primaries, it was necessary for them to write as well as inform the House to make it official.
It could be recalled that after the nomination, some AKHA members who could not win the Party’s ticket had immediately decided to defect to the opposition parties in other to clinch tickets as well as stand the next year’s general election.

THE INK gathered from a reliable source that not less than four AKHA members have decided to dump the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a platform which they used in 2011 to represent their different State Constituencies. The defected members are: member representing Itu State Constituency, (Mrs) Ekaette Ebong Okon, Deputy Leader/Chairman House Committee on Education, member representing Mbo State Constituency, (Mrs) Alice Ekpenyong, Chief Whip/Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs, Social Welfare and Cooperatives, member representing Uruefong Oruko State Constituency, Bassey Etienam, Chairman House Committee on Science and Technology and member representing Uruan State Constituency, Kufreabasi Etuk, Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Matters.
