Akpabio dreads G22

Akpabio dreads G22

While the heat is yet to settle on  the acceptability and or otherwise of the former Secretary to State Government, members of the G22 have made very deep penetrations into the heart of the president Goodluck Jonathan. Avery reliable source informed our reporter that the nation’s president has finally given his ears to the cries of the G22 and is set to meet with them early today in Abuja when he must have returned from his brief visit to the British Prime minister.

Our reporter gathered that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was to meet with the Nsima Ekere led group of twenty two aggrieved aspirants but the sudden movement the president embarked upon to Britain put a temporary halt to the meeting. It was gathered that Governor Godswill Akpabio had made all forms of efforts to block the aggrieved aspirants from meeting with the President but that the resilience of the G22 made it possible for them to finally have a way to see the President.

Information available to our reporter had it that when the Governor discovered that the group of 22 aggrieved aspirants were set to meet with the President, he is said to have hurriedly called a meeting of all his remaining loyalists and mandated all council Chairmen to send in congratulatory messages to the former SSG Udom Emmanuel. A source who attended the meeting hinted our reporter that the directive to congratulate Udom was to ensure that all congratulatory messages are placed on the pages of National dailies. Our reporter understands that there will be a sanction on members who are not willing to place the adverts.

Sources say, there is so much in fighting in the Akpabio’s team as according to a very reliable PA to the Governor, His Excellency has been rattled by these twenty two aspirants.

The PA said, journalist, these twenty two people are holding oga to ransome and it is very difficult to convince them to sheathe their sword so we have to do everything possible to ensure that the Presidency and the National leadership of the PDP is made to belief that Udom is right.

THE INK gathered from impeccable sources that it is the belief of the state Chief Executive that come what may, Udom Emmanuel will be sworn into office as the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State. Meanwhile, Governor Akpabio is said to have concluded plans to ensure that those who are seen to be loyal to him come up with communiqué threatening fire and brimstone if the candidature of Udom is upturned.

However, Ime Ekanem who earlier secured an injunction against INEC recognizing Udom as the PDP standard bearer for Akwa Ibom guber election has since proceed on an Appeal against the vacation of the court order that stopped Udom. Our judiciary correspondent who monitored the process said the appeal comes up for hearing on the 9th of January, 2015.
