Ita Enang- Too late for tears

Ita Enang- Too late for tears

Senator Ita Enang is not a happy man at the moment. He is not pleased with the system. He has thrown his shyly decorum to the wind and is ready to exert his anger on the man whom he sees as the one who plotted his unceremonious exit from the National Assembly.

Methinks Ita Enang’s tears are just crocodile ones. Where was he when the vast majority of Akwa Ibom people were complaining of the high handedness of Akapbio and his allies? Was Ita Enang not in this state? It is quite absurd that Enang could shamelessly sit on radio to say all sorts of things against Governor Akpabio whom he had once feared to talk about?

The fact that Ita Enang had white washed Akpabio is one thing, the fact that he failed to do it in time makes it sickening. My take is that no serious Akwa Ibom person will take Ita Enang serious. The comments of Ita Enang is enough to tell the people that he is a stomach politician. He was with Umana and then dumped the former SSG to Akpabio simply because he wanted to remain in the senate. He did not play the power game well. The distinguished Senator Ita Enang gave Akwa Ibomites the thinking that he has the ears and eyes of the President and that the whole gist of one Senator returning to the Senate in every state was sure to favour him.

After all said and done, he hurriedly went to Akpabio and pussy footed. He dumped Umana in an inglorious manner thinking he will get the nod of the Governor to return to the senate. How wrong he was. When his people mostly Elders of the Senatorial istrict questioned the rationale behind his action, he went on a chase that led him to nothing. In saner climes, Senator Enang will not utter a word; he should bury his head in shame for he has failed the people he hitherto claimed he was serving.

Those who are today thumbing up Sen. Enang after that radio interview where the Ibiono man made certain remarks against Akpabio are misplacing when to hail a Senator and when to call him to order. For me, I will advise that Ita Enang be allowed to shed his tears after all he is a negotiator. Remember, Ita Enang had traded the Federal Polytechnic that was meant to be sited at Ibiono for Akpabio who went ahead to site it at Ukana.

The buss this action generated had let Ita Enang to act a script where he really showed that he had sold out the location of the Polytechnic. The only thing Enang said at that time was that he was a senator and will not want to make a noise that will embarrass the federal Government for accepting to grant Akwa Ibom State a federal Polytechnic. He only said in description of Akpabio that Man is mighty, but God is Almighty.

Today, Ita Enang having lost the Senate seat woefully to OBA is busy calling Akpabio names, describing the regime with all manner of words. We are not interested. The people of Uyo Senatorial District which Ita Enang epresent at the upper chambers of the National Assembly are too intelligent to join a fight that is seeking to bless only the stomach of Senator Enang. The people of Uyo Senatorial District have since come to understand that Sen. Ita Enang is not worth dying for, they know also that Senator Ita Enang is not worth fighting for. If Enang had wanted the people to stand up for him, He should have first stood up for the people. This should act as a lesson to those who feel that the Office of the Governor is all and all and must be worshipped.

This is a lesson to Ita Enang that when he has the chance of advising a politician, he will be bold enough to tell such politician that respect is the watchword and not hypocrisy and cowardice. Enang played the part of hypocrisy and cowardice. Let him pay for it.
