Akwa Ibom women vow to vote Udom Emmanuel into Office in 2015

…As Wife, Martha celebrates Xmas with over 2000 widows, pregnant women

A cross section of Akwa Ibom women drawn from Eket, Onna, Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, Esit Eket, Ibeno, Ikot Ekpene, as well as Etinan, Nsit Atai, Ibesikpo, Nsit ubium, and Nsit Ibom, have vowed to vote the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer in the forth coming governorship Election slated for 2015 in Akwa Ibom, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for him to continue with the uncommon transformation drive of the current administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio.

The women gave the assurance yesterday, when the wife of the PDP Governorship Standard bearer, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, visited them as part of her on-going tour of the state. She used the opportunity to shower them love in the spirit of the season, as she presented, cash, wrapper, and baby care items including, pampers, baby towel, bathing towel, bathing soap, cream, among other gift items to the women.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, Mrs. Udom, who was accompanied on the visit by, Deaconess Owoidighe Ekpoaattai, Obonganwan, Jane Ayang, Lady Ekaette Usip, Obonganwan Susan Eshiet and Obonganwan Mandu Abia, among other members on her entourage, said she decided to embark on the Christmas visit in order to put smiles on the faces of the women in the spirit of the season, and urged them to continue to put their trust in God.

She advised the women most especially the expectant mothers to take advantage of the free health care programme of the governor Akpabio led administration by visiting the health centres nearest to them for proper medical attention and ante natal care.

Responding on behalf of the women, Mrs. Emem Francis, Patience Nkereuwem, and Nsidibe Inyang, thanked the donor for emulating the exemplary role of her Excellency, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio, and described her as a caring and compassionate mother. The equally commended her love and concern towards their well-being and prayed God to bless her abundantly for wiping away tears from their eyes, and promised to make good use of the items.

Others who extolled the motherly disposition of Mrs. Martha Udom, including, the International cordinator, Credible Women International, Obong Anwan Mercy Cephas, described Mrs. Udom Emmanuel, as God’s gift to the women of Akwa Ibom state, and urged the women of the state to key behind the  winning team as 2015 approaches.
