Michael Bush set to host PDP reunion in Uruan, Thursday
The Chairman/CEO of Bush House Nigeria, Akparawa Michael Bush will on Thursday 9th February, 2017 lead his fans, friends and admirers to Uruan Local Government Area in a ceremony which has been christened the Reunion of Michael Bush with the Peoples Democratic Party.

Michael Bush, it could be recalled was an ardent supporter of Obong Umana Okon Umana when the Ex SSG was contesting election for the ticket of the PDP in the 2015 nomination exercise of the party.

His support for Umana Okon Umana made the people to believe that Michael Bush was also a member of the APC especially as the Ex–SSG had after failing to pick the PDP ticket moved to the All Progressive Congress.

But in a press briefing with newsmen in Uyo, the versatile journalist said, he was never a member of the APC. He maintained that his decision to reunite with the PDP family in Uruan Local Government Area is to make the people understand that Michael Bush is a strong card carrying member of the People Democratic Party PDP.

Bush who conducted newsmen around Uruan Local Government Area Council where his reunion in the PDP will take place on Thursday before briefing them in Uyo spoke on why he has spent a longer time in the state since he left in 2009 said “this is the longest I have stayed since I left in 2009. I came for three days. Today is the 24th day. I am just here because there are some crucial decisions we have to take and there are some crucial    announcements we have to make. There are some steps we need to put forward. I consider those steps critical.

So basically, I am here to announce to you that on Thursday 9th Feb, 2017 I will be renewing my vows with the PDP. I am going to tell my people of Uruan, I will be telling Ekpene Ukim my Village and Akwa Ibom and the world over that I am a member of the PDP”.

Bush maintained that he is not bothered by the defection of some people from the PDP. He reasoned that all his life he has always stayed on the side of the people. Siding the down trodden, siding the abandoned. He said even though he has big friends in government that he has never spent 25hours with them as compared to the time he spends with the down trodden and the common man.

“I think this window in the PDP is for me to go into the Party and contribute my own quota towards making the party attractive again so that all those that left the party can be encouraged to come back to the party. I will have to explore all avenues that are legitimate to inform the people that the PDP is a good party consisting of good men.”

The ace broadcaster maintained also that his decision to take this position of reuniting with the PDP is to ensure that he puts paid to rumours that are making the rounds that he is an APC member, Bush maintained that the reunion is not a defection from the APC but a Statement of fact that he is still a member of the PDP. He said, even as it is, that nobody has come to say that he (Bush) has ever been a member of the APC.

Mr. Bush said, he wants to stay in the PDP and help build the party. The Uruan born politician says he is not going to be bothered with whatever people would say as far as he is convinced with the position he has taken.

He spoke on the strides of the state Governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel and maintained that it is remarkable. He called on everyone irrespective of political party, religion, ethnicity and sentiments to support Governor Emmanuel whom he said is a fantastically courageous manager of human, material and financial resources noting that Akwa Ibom could not have had a better leader than this at this time.

Asked what he intends to gain when the party taps into his goodwill and sails through the 2019 hurdles, Mr. Bush said, he is not looking at personal gains but the collective benefit for the PDP and Akwa Ibom people.

Corroboratting Bush position, a two term member of Uruan state constituency Barr. Usenobong Akpabio said the PDP in Uruan in particular and Akwa Ibom in general will benefit a lot from Bush reunion.

Usenobong Akpabio described Micheal Bush as an asset, a man whose goodwill, experience and connections will help the party grow and appreciated Mr. Bush for the reunion and said it is an exercise that will make the PDP in Uruan to reposition itself and get set for the many tasks ahead.
