Cross River Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has on Monday issued contradictory reports on their stand over the crisis that has rocked the party.
The conflict came at the wake of Appeal Court’s judgment that was delivered last week in Port Harcourt in favour of Senator Sherriff as the Party’s National Chairman.
The State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr, Egbun Samuel had earlier issued a statement declaring the party’s support for the Ahmed Markarfi faction.
But The State Chairman of the party, Ntufam Edim Inok in a statement made available to some news men disputed the earlier statement by the state secretary of the party and declared support to Senator Ali Modu Sherriff as the National Chairman of the party.
His statement reads, “The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Cross River State Chapter supports Senator Ali Modu Sherriff led executive.
“This statement also refutes the earlier report credited to the state publicity secretary of the party. As law abiding citizens, we are committed to the rule of law and also respect court decisions at all stages.
“The Cross River State executive of the party calls all to join hands in moving the party forward while urging all to continue to support the PDP.”
