AKBC test-runs live internet radio, targets 100m listeners - thekillerpunch News

The radio service of Akwa Ibom State Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC) Uyo has successfully test run its internet radio platform, a global app that comes with a 24/7 interactive live cast, a quick scan code that allows users connect within a second and is available on all app stores. The platform will transmit live broadcast and archive audio services to over three billion internet users across worldwide.

The internet radio platform is powered by the New Media Aide to Governor Udom Emmanuel Mrs. Meflyn Anwana, in collaboration with Prince Afojeare Campbell of Gosporella International.

Millions of people around the world can get live updates of Akwa Ibom State Government plans and policies, cultures and values as well as the limitless investment opportunities that abound.

As at June 2016, Internet penetration in Nigeria was 46.1 %. Nigeria had 2.5% share in the total number of Internet users worldwide and a total number of 86,219,965 Internet users. This shows the viability of the internet and its tools in Nigeria.

Kudos to the DG of AKBC, Pastor Anietie Ukpe, who has successfully led the state’s broadcasting service to the digital era.

AKBC has in the past 25 years fashioned out well articulated programmes that have contributed to all spheres of social life through information correlation, reinforcement, mobilization, entertainment, education and promotion of integration and economic development.

The Radio Service, christened “Radio Akwa Ibom,  and “Voice of Promise” transmits on a Frequency Modulation of 90.5 MHZ.

With a mission to provide information, entertainment and educational services to the public, through professional broadcasting, that gives adequate expression to the culture, characteristics, and thinking of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, AKBC Radio is now in your pockets via your gadgets.
