Apparently driven by a renewed commitment to chart a new course for the relatively peaceful Ibiaku Ikot Usen community, and to strengthen the Village Council Executive structure for enhanced quality service to the community, the village head of Ibiaku Ikot Usen, Eteidung Edem
Udofia Akpan in collaboration with the Village council, on Saturday, February 4, 2017 inaugurated Mr. Michael Okon Akpan-Anana as the authentic and recognized Ibiaku Ikot Usen Village Council youth President.
Administering Oath of office and Alliance to the new village council youth president Mr. Michael Okon Akpan-Anana, the Commissioner for oath and a renowned legal luminary, Bar. Ime Nya Asanga, urged the youth president to leave above board by discharging his duties diligently and faithfully, and not to sacrifice his official conduct on the alter of personal interest and self-aggrandizement.
Barr. Asanga urged the village council youth president to join hands with the village head to maintain peace and promote development in the community and not to allow himself to be used by those who do not mean well for the community
Addressing the newly sworn-in village council youth president and a cross section of Ibiaku Ikot Usen indigenes who gathered at the Ibiaku Ikot Usen village council Hall to witness the inauguration rituals, the village head, Eteidung Edem Udofia Akpan thanked Members of his
Village Council and relevant stakeholders of Ibiaku Ikot Usen for their unwavering patriotism, wise counsel and solidarity in ensuring the successful swearing in of Ibiaku Ikot Usen village council youth president, which had been long overdue.
The Ikot Usen Monarch remarked that the swearing in of Mr. Michael Okon Akpan-Anana as the duly recognized youth president has put to rest the seeming crisis and unnecessary desperation exhibited by a few unpatriotic youths who see every appointment as being political. The village head noted that Mr. Michael Akpan-Anana’s position as the Ibiaku Ikot Usen Village council youth president, does not in any way contradict the position of any political youth president in the area, adding that the village under his careful watch will decisively and traditionally with any youth or his sponsors that contravene the position of the village council.
He however, officially presented Mr. Michael Okon Akpan-Anana as the recognized Ibiku Ikot Usen village council youth president to the community and urged the security agencies to accord him due recognition.
On his part, the chairman of Ibiaku Ikot Usen village council and veteran journalist Comrade Dennis Umoh said the choice of Mr. Michael Okon Akpan-Anana as the Ikot Usen Council Youth president was based on merit and his good track record in community service and called on all lovers of progress, unity and development within and outside Ibiaku Ikot Usen community to embrace the new youth president of Ibiaku Ikot Usen village council.
Comrade Umoh prevailed on indigenes of the area to embrace peace in the 10 families that make up the Ibiaku Ikot Usen and unanimously work toward reclaiming the lost glory of the once cherished and respected community.
In their separate remarks, some prominent citizens of the area who witnessed the inauguration of the youth president of Ibiaku Ikot Usen, Ambassador Engr. (Deacon) Kufre Ekong Inyang (Grand Patron of Nigeria Police Force), and a seasoned academic, Dr. Uwemedimo Ekanem lauded the initiative of the village head of Ibiaku Ikot Usen, Eteidung Edem Udofia Akpan and his council for appointing and inaugurating a peace-loving youth to fill the vacant position of youth president in the Ibiaku Ikot Usen Village Council, describing the development as worthwhile.
The duo called on the youths of Ibiaku Ikot Usen to respect the decision of the village head and advised against any act capable of truncating the prevailing peace and tranquility in Ibiaku Ikot Usen Community.
The Ibiaku Ikot Usen Stakeholders pledged their support and loyalty to Eteidung Edem Udofia Akpan led administration in the community and advised all credible sons and daughters of the area to support their monarch.
In his acceptance speech, the youth president of Ibiaku Village Council thanked the village head and his council for finding him worthy to represent the youths in the village council and his appointment as a call to serve his fatherland.
