In continuation of his tour to Clans in his Local Government Area, the Transition Committee Chairman for Abak, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen on Sunday interacted with the youths of Afaha Obong Clan.

The event which attracted youths from the 24 Villages of Afaha Obong Clan, Youths and Elders from other Clans in Abak, Party Chieftains, Chapter and Ward Officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), took place at Country Home Global Garden, Ikot Akpabio, Afaha Obong.

Addressing the gathering, the Transition Committee Chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Udosen said the main reason for the meeting was to thank the youths of Afaha Obong Clan for supporting the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the Senate Minority Leader, Chief Godswill Akpabio and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).


Dr. Udosen explained that Mr. Udom Emmanuel has done excellently well as the Governor despite the economic challenges and called on the youths and the entire people of the area to continue to support him with prayers to enable him succeed in his industrialization and wealth creation policy.

The Transition Committee Chairman described Mr. Udom Emmanuel as a God-fearing Governor who has good plans and vision to take Akwa Ibom State to the next level of development.

He pointed out that the dakkada philosophy of his administration has encouraged the youths and the entire people of the State to rise up and engage themselves in positive venture which would enable them become useful and responsible citizens in future.

Dr. Udosen called the people of the area to remain steadfast in PDP and should not decamp to any other party as according to him, the Peoples Democratic Party is the only party that can carry every body along and deliver the much-needed dividends of democracy to the people.

He assured the gathering that the hardship being faced by Nigerians today would be a thing of the past if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being voted back to the government at the centre come 2019.

The Council Boss stated that the Abak Local government Transition Committee under his leadership has engaged the youths positively and has also recorded remarkable achievement despite paucity of funds.

The Transition Committee Chairman advised the youths to continue to remain peaceful, law-abiding and should support government policies and programmes. Some of the Youth Leaders who spoke at the well attended  interactive meeting including, Prince Usen Joshua commended the Transition Committee Chairman for embarking on the tour of Clans to interact with the Youths, describing him as an outstanding grassroot politician who has the  interest of his people at heart.

The Youth Leaders pledged their continuous support to the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel and promised to work together with the Transition Committee Chairman for the success of the Peoples Democratic Party in future elections.

Some of the Elders who spoke at the meeting including, Obong Eventus Umoh, Elder Edet Isonguyo, Deacon Victor Morgan among other, lauded the Transition Committee Chairman for the achievements he has recorded in Abak and assured him of their continuous loyalty and support.

Highpoint of the meeting was the adoption of the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel for a second term in 2019 and Chief Godswill Akpabio to return to the National Assembly to represent the people of  Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in 2019.
